Photographer’s Note

Another picture from our recent holiday in Crete. This was on a fine and very pleasant trip which we had down to the archaelogical site of Eleftherna. Unfortunately, although some building of an information centre has begun, the site is not yet open to the public, so all we could do was to peer through high railings to catch a few glimpses of the place.

However, the walk back up this track, surrounded by olive trees on all sides, was glorious. Interestingly, the Cretans devour more olive oil than any other nation in the World, each consuming between half and one litre of the stuff per week. They also have one of the lowest rates of coronary heart disease in the Western World despite the fact that smoking is almost universal.

This is Yvonne with her brand new camera in its case and still in perfect and pristine condition while I am rapidly wearing mine out by snapping everything in sight!

Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.
