Photographer’s Note

Having a couple of cocktails by the pretty marina in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. It was a lovely spot to relax and watch all the pretty people walking.

Agios Nikolaos is a lovely little town with the Marina, Lake "Voulismeni" nearby and plenty of nice little restaurants and bars.

Hi Emma, I am impressed by the outcome. You clicked this shot at an apperture of 4.2, just allowing the mild light and shutter speed of1/8.
This makes your background really intesting and somewhat blurred.......but its a treat to watch.
If I am true you sharpened the shot in Picassa, as the contours look slightly more bright..but they donot educe the beauty of this shot at all.

Thanks for this upload, I shall also try a night shot with the same setings.
One thing I would like to know............Did you zoom the shot?

Hi Emma
Very interesting subject the coktails, but your interest point is too dark with a busy background.
You should use your zoom at 150 mm with your camera on a tripod to have a selecting setting DOF on your subject with a blur background.
