Photographer's Note

At a half an hour of boat of Elounda, here is the island of Spinalonga,
In 1575, the Venetians built an impressive fortress there which became at the dawn of the 20th century leper's colony. This last one was abandoned at the beginning of 1950. Nowadays, the island of Spinalonga is uninhabited.

In spite of sound not enough historic importance, the village of the lepers seduces the visitors who like refreshing the story of the former castle and his imaginary inhabitants.
