A sunset from the old Venetian port of Hania. Here you see the lighthouse of Hania, often called "Egyptian lighthouse", because it took its current form (looks like a minaret) during the years of the Egyptian rule (1830-1840). In fact the lighthouse existed there before that, it was first constructed during the Venetian years (1204-1645), but had diferent shape. About 10-15 years ago it was about to collapse, but after extensive restoration works is safe again.
