"Τhe village of Polidrosos has 1500 residents and it is a appreciable peaceful touristic resort, situated in a dense forest of black pine in the foot of mount Parnassos. The village is the continuation of built-up of the above Souvala the residents of which afterwards the earthquake 1870 were forced to go down to the plain. It has abundant fresh waters, healthy climate and beautiful view to the basin Lilaias-Gravias. In a distance of 2km westwards founded a Byzantine monument of big value (6th-7th century) the temple of Paleopanaya with infrequent architecture. Close around are situated the springs of the river Kifissos and ruins of the ancient city of Lilaia while advancing more eastward, the visitor meets traces of the citadel of the ancient city of Erohos referred to by Homer and Hirodotos." Here you can see the springs of Kifissos river. |
