The view from this spot is beautiful. I think the gate is a strong focal point in the image as it create a more interesting element for the foreground. Nice light and colours. Thanks for sharing.

Schöner geht's nicht! Ein wirklich atemberaubender Blick - sowohl aus historischer als auch aus touristischer Sicht. Ein wunderschönes Foto mit einer im doppelten Sinne tollen Tiefe.
Das muss ein besonderer Ort sein ...

Very nicely composed shot with sea background far below and old gate still standing after rest is ruins. Midday light is rather harsh though, and could be adjusted a bit darker.

Really like this shot.It feels like it's filled with antique secrets and mysteries.I can sense an element of Hope in this picture, because there's a door wide with paradise-like opening.
Perfect creativity and POV.Ingredients,lightnings and contrast, everything is A1.

Hello Wolfgang,a good POV and composition for this shot high up on the mountain.The ruined arch appears in a strange place, placed as it is on the mountainside but the view through it and to the side is beautiful, I can imagine that I am standing there.

Lovely and classic doorway looking toward a spectacular view, grand view, beautiful blue sky with nice cloud scattered across the horizon. Make one wish to take a walk there. Great composition. The day is strong with haze, but you did and exceptional job capturing all the details that can be seen. Thanks

wie durch ein Tor ein Blick in eine leicht verschwommene Welt durch all den Dunst. Mir gefällt die Position des Steintors vor diesen weiten Buchten und dem sehr schönen Blick.

Hello Wolfgang, I am still catching up on your Evia posts. This is an island I would like to visit. I have read of the Gate of Styra and now I know how it looks - Beautiful!
Good strong foreground to give 'weight' to the view.

Das erinnert mich sehr an einen sehr ähnlichen Torbogen auf der isla Taquile im Titicacasee.Auch die Landscahft sieht genauso aus und die Höhe über dem Wasser stimmt auch.Der Bogen ist gut platziert und erlaubt noch einen guten Blick auf diese Land-und Meerschaft.Gute Tiefe auch.
