| The oracleplace of Pythia was inside the temple of Apollo-on the left side of the photo-.People from all over Greece used to come here and ask for Pythias oracles before starting a war,or seeking for Gods favour.Certainly it was not for free. The temple was surrounded by all kinds of treasures devoted to the Gods. There are still a few structures standing like the one on the right side of the photo where gifts used to be stored. The one in the picture was erected by the Athenians. |
