Its economic growth of the region even in our days too depends from the slate rocks and particular to the slates, named 'slates Karystou'.
Today,Marmari spreading in a picturesque and characteristic natural semicircle, has been developed in a center of vacations and is an ideal point for exploration of the South Evia.
In the Summer months is full of people and in Winter months is transformed in a quite fish village.
