Photographer’s Note

Our wise people said "If you can't have any sex, go for fishing" :)

If you have the opportunity to be in Chalkis, you can see many people (men in majority) near the old bridge, fishing from their boats or not. I can't explain it exactly: they have fishing as a hobby or they can't have some sex? :P

Anyway, this young man must has much patience and waiting for a fish to bite... :)

Hi Mpampis,

Very interesting composition and funny note :). I love how you managed to emphasize the fishing rod as the only companion of the fisher, keeping him company in the serenity of the sport. The sense of loneliness is further emphasized by the leaves over his head.

Καλημέρα Μπάμπη, ο καλαμοψαράς βρίσκεται σε πολύ καλή θέση, λες και συνενοήθηκες μαζί του να στηθαί εκέι, ο φοίνικας που τον σκεπάζι δημιουργεί πολύ ωραία αίσθηση με φόντο ένα κομμάτι της Χαλκίδας.
Το φως και οι σκιες επίσης πολύ καλά.

(εδώ και χρόνια πήγα με καλάμι να ψαρέψω μόλις θυμήθηκα την παροιμία την ΄μαζεωα στα γρήγορα κοιτόντας δεξιά και αριστερά μήπως με είχε δει κανένας.-:))))))

Καλημέρα Μπάμπη.
Τι έγινε; το γυρίσαμε στις ανθρωποκεντρικές;
Απο ότι βλέπω τα πάς πάρα πολύ καλά.
Πάρα πολύ καλή η εκμετάλευση του υπάρχοντος φωτισμού έδωσε ένα εξαιρετικό αποτέλεσμα.
Πολύ καλή επίσης η χρησιμοποίηση των κλαδιών του φοίνικα για να επικεντρώσεις το ενδιαφέρον στον ψαρά.
Πολύ πετυχημένη η μετατροπή σε Α/Μ πέτυχες πολύ καλή τονική διαβάθμιση.
Σε χαιρετώ και καλά μπάνια.

Nice sepia shot, Mpampis. You composed the shot well, with the palm leaves overhanging. Sharp and clear image. Perhaps the man and his rod should be a little to the left of the centre of the image, but I'm not sure about that. Well done.

Γειά σου Μπάμπη,
Πάρα πολύ όμορφη φωτογραφία, θα έλεγα καταπληκτική!! Το καδράρισμα είναι τέλειο με το νεαρό ψαρά να βρίσκεται στο κέντρο και το φοίνικα να τον "σκεπάζει". Ο φωτισμός επίσης είναι υπέροχος. Χίλια μπράβο, άψογη δουλειά!

Μπάμπη καλησπέρα,
καλή η επιλογή σου να την ανεβάσεις σε Sepia και να μας γυρίσεις πίσω πολλά χρόνια.Η τοποθέτηση του ψαρά μεταξύ των κλαδιών του φοίνικα είναι νομίζω μιά καλή επιλογή.

Nice vintage appearance with the B&W, the palm leaves make a nice frame on top, he needs a longer T-shirt.

I was writing some words for this photo yesterday allready, unfortunately the PC I was behind 'crashed', so..I start again today :)

Pleasant B&W photo, I like the long shadows here..they add dynamics, and kind of tell which time of the day it was, which is somewhat harder than with colour photo's. Good sharpness, compo, etcetera. How about touching up the contrast a bit? I think that can be done to improve this one. Further it's nice.
I went fishing a weak ago, unfortunately the fish didn't want to bite (strong streams and wind..mainly catched crab)..hope this man had more luck..he doesn't seem that active though. Just waiting to bite indeed! Good title.

A patient man waiting...nice. I have to say I couldn't be waiting more than 5' for a fish to bite...I'm too nervous.

A very nice BW streetshot. Well composed and with graphic interest, also due to the well rendered shadows. Very nice daily life shot, file mou. Your notes adds a nice layer to it. Never thought where I was looking at, while seeing a man engaged in fishing ;-)

It's a very nice sepia photo of a lasy afternoon. The joke with the sex is magnifficent, hehe. The Serbs have a similar - a bar holder asks his client:
"Will you have a coffee or sex?"
"A coffee, please!"
"Man, y'd better go f..king - who's gonna make you coffee just now!?..."

Πραγματικά πολύ έξυπνο να κάνεις την φωτογραφία αυτή σε σέπια.Οι σκιές δένουν απόλυτα και ο φοίνικας πλαισιώνει τον μοναχικό ψαρά.

Νομίζω ότι είναι μία από τις καλύτερες φωτογραφίες που έχεις τραβήξει! Τεχνικά την βρίσκω εξαιρετική, ο φωτισμός άψογος, πολύ καλό νετάρισμα, εξαιρετική σύνθεση και λεπτομέρεια.
