Η καταπληκτική από κάθε άποψη Λιμνοθάλασσα του Μεσολογγίου, προσφέρει στην πόλη και έναν άλλο θησαυρό: Το ΑΛΑΤΙ.

Το μικρό βάθος των υδάτων της, σε συνάρτηση με τη μεγάλη περιεκτικότητά της σε φυσικά στοιχεία και η ύπαρξη των κατάλληλων μετεωρολογικών συνθηκών, προσφέρουν απλόχερα την δυνατότητα δημιουργίας παραγωγικότατων Αλυκών.

Έτσι σήμερα υπάρχουν στο Μεσολόγγι δύο Αλυκές: Η ΑΣΠΡΗ και αυτή της ΤΟΥΡΛΙΔΑΣ. Η παραγωγή του αλατιού γίνεται σε φυσικούς προθερμαντήρες με τη μέθοδο της συνεχούς πήξης και η συγκομιδή του αλατιού γίνεται στην μεν Άσπρη Αλυκή μηχανοποιημένα, στη δε Τουρλίδα με παραδοσιακά μέσα.

Η έκταση που χρησιμοποιούν οι Αλυκές είναι 14.000 στρέμματα και η ετήσια παραγωγή Αλατιού ξεπερνά τους 130.000 τόνους. Αυτό σημαίνει ότι το Μεσολόγγι παράγει περισσότερο από το 90% του πρωτογενούς Αλατιού στην Ελλάδα.

The stunning view from each lagoon took place, give the city another treasure: the salt.

The area used by Alykes is 14,000 acres and the annual salt production exceeds 130,000 tonnes. This means that Mesologi produces more than 90% of primary salt in Greece.

The reflections and the colours are very handsome, the composition nice.

I only wish the crop could be a bit wider to allow for the crane to show itself fully, and maybe a bit wider also from the left to have more breathing space.

Neat Image could also be useful for the slight grains, but that's very minimal.

A superb photo....uiquely beautiful. Who would have thought that a salt mine would make such a great scene! Gorgeous light! The white salt almost looks like snow, as the evening sun casts it's pink light on the glaciers. But no, it's salt! Congratulations, fine work, cheers,

who'd think that a salt mine would be so photogenic.
the water reflection is tremendous. but for me, its the geometry, the shapes that really stand out.
beautifully lit colours too.
whats not to admire about this one!
