Photographer's Note
Gerania Mountains extend from Megara to Loutraki and Heraion (Cape Malagkavi). Surrounded by the Saronic and the Corinthian gulf Alkyonida. It is covered with pines (Aleppo pine) and the highest points covers the kefalliniki fir. The shrubby vegetation is lush and recorded 950 species and subspecies of plants, many of them rare. Platania oaks, holly oaks and myrtles fill the flora of the mountain. The fauna are jackals, foxes, hares, hawks, etc. The area is part of the European network of protected areas (Natura 2000).
