Photographer’s Note
Most of my travel dreams involve sailboats. We has sailed on a Windstar vessel from Rome to Athens. However, I still watched this boat leave Hydra with envy. If you look closely, you can see that this sailboat is flying both a German and a Greek flag; indicating that the boat is from Germany. I dreamed about all the places the boat had been on its trip from Germany.
The windmill is a 2 bedroom vacation rental; perhaps that was where this tourist was headed.

awh, Pat, not fair - it's midnight, I'm still up writing papers for work, and here you come and post this totally distracting shot :)) wanna go there nooow...
jokes aside - excellent shot, love how the ripples in the water seem to mirror the lines of the cloud formations, love the different shades of blue and how it makes the white sailboat really stand out. I also like the composition, so smooth, simple and calm, perfectly fits the overall mood of the shot. and even though now I find it difficult to concentrate on what I have to write - thanks for sharing :)
best,
Kristine

What else can we wish in life? A sailboat, a windmill for a terra firma house and a wonderful scenery would do it for me!
Let come down to earth and say that you have a perfect holiday picture with all the ingredients to be remembered for ever. Well done.

Hello Pat -
A lovely scene for sure. I can imagine your dreams of sailing, it's not one of my things though, but I sure can see where you are coming from. My only comment is that the boat kind of merges with the shore in BG. There is no separation and makes it hard to really focus on the boat. No there is little you could have done but wait a few seconds more for it to clear the landfall but then you would have lost the windmill. A little water between the boat and shoreline would have also provided the separation, again little you could do. Anyway, well exposed and well done!
Thank you for sharing.

Olá Pat,
A dreaming picture, indeed.
The land at background at right is nice to give a perspective of the location.
About flags on boats (and far away car plates), I think/dream the same when I see them: how they came here, which route, what they saw on the way, etc.
I guess you put a wrong link for the tourist. Weren't you thinking about this other one?

Hi Pat,
The gentle wake in the foreground gives a lovely disorted reflection of the sailboat leaving this blue harbor. Staying behind is the old fortress and windmill. Beautiful clear colors with excellent sharpness. I love the two tone blue sky.

Geat title and a wonderful shot! For some reason this is very appealing to me today (maybe I'm dreaming of retirement!). I like the use of the vertical format, which is unusual, but works well in this case because of the interesting waves and clouds. Nicely done!

hello, pat.
yes... those greeks... they should be ashamed... living on their islans among sun-lit sea channels. when i see these meditarranean scenes i always wonder what "bit" my ancestors to turn north rather than west as they were descending from the caucasus mountains along with other indo-europeans. oh well...
great atmosophere, great colors, and the white boat brings in just the right dream-like mood.
my compliments and TFS

Hello Patricia,
What a lovely composed scenery with that boat that is passing by. Looks very peaceful and quiet. Those rolling waves in front give a nice calm touch to it and your colour handling is excellent. The vertical framing suits the picture very well, especially the clouds on top give a nice detail instead of a clear blue sky....very nice work.

Hi Pat,
This is a great portrait view of a superb place. I like the extent of of water in the foreground as we are guided to view the yacht beneath the big very blue sky. Good light and excellent composition. TFS. Gerald

Hi Pat,
It's easy to become envious on such. All the time in the world and freedom to go where the sun shines. Really nice looking place. gentle ripples and sunny weather. I'm not sure about narrowish vertical framing here. Maybe a square one with less sky would fit better.

Hi Pat
Normally we don't associate such shots in vertical format, but here it works fine with the different shades of blue & the clouds. Nice reflections on the ripples of the sailboat. The windmill stands out in the BG. A very nice postcard of a shot Pat.

Hi Pat,
Excellent clarity and colors. The blue tones and the solitary boat invite to relaxation. The vertical format is quite original for this kind of picture and works well oce it helps put the ocus on the boat. Sea and sky are well balanced in the composition.

Hola Pat.
Awesome shot with great colors contrast. The sailing boat just crossing your point of view at the exact moment, the calm blue sea only disturbed by some nice ripples and the windmill hotel standing at the top of the rock, all this produces a very good composition. The mountains in the bg give a good depth to your beautiful photo.
Well done. TFS.
Cheers.

Hello Pat,
I am not much of a water person but this looks like a wonderful spot to spend some time at. The composition, sharpness and beautiful colors are your trademark and this photo succeeded beautifully. You really lucked out with the person in the distance wearing a red jacket. This person only takes up less that .001% of the frame but what a dynamic addition he/she is. You are very good at this type of work!

A beautifull sea, very quiet apart from the small undulations, and I like the rocky island in the background for the depth it suggests.
