Photographer’s Note

My dear friends this is my the 200th photograph that upload in TE.
I used these two columns,to celebrate this milestone. The temple you can see it here

Temple of Olympian Zeus,(Athens)

The Temple of Olympian Zeus (Greek: Ναός του Ολυμπίου Διός or Naos tou Olimpiou Dios), also known as the Olympieion, is a colossal ruined temple in the centre of the Greek capital Athens that was formerly dedicated to Zeus, king of the Olympian gods. Construction began in the 6th century BC during the rule of the Athenian
tyrants, who envisaged building the greatest temple in the ancient world, but it was not completed until the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD some 650 years after the project had begun. During the Roman periods it was renowned as the largest temple in Greece and housed one of the largest cult statues in the ancient world.

The temple's glory was shortlived, as it fell into disuse after being pillaged in a barbarian invasion in the 3rd century AD. It was probably never repaired and was reduced to ruins thereafter. In the centuries after the fall of the Roman Empire, the temple was extensively quarried for building materials to supply building projects elsewhere in the city. Despite this, substantial remains remain visible today and it continues to be a major tourist attraction.

Ναός του Ολυμπίου Διός

Ο ναός του Ολυμπίου Διός ή Ολυμπιείο ή οι Στύλοι του Ολυμπίου Διός είναι ένας σημαντικός αρχαίος ναός στο κέντρο Αθήνας. Παρότι η κατασκευή του ξεκίνησε τον 6ο αιώνα π.χ., δεν ολοκληρώθηκε παρά επί του Ρωμαίου αυτοκράτορα Αδριανού τον 2ο αιώνα π.χ.. Αποτέλεσε τον μεγαλύτερο ναό της Ελλάδας κατά τους Ελληνιστικούς και Ρωμαικούς χρονους.
Ο ναός κατασκευάστηκε από Πεντελικό μάρμαρο και είχε 96 μέτρα μήκος στις άκρες του και 40 μέτρα στην ανατολική και δυτική πρόσοψη. Είχε 104 κολώνες Κορινθιακού ρυθμού, η κάθε μία 17 μέτρα ύψος, 2.6 μέτρα διάμετρο και βάρος 364 τόνους περίπου. 48 κολόνες στεκόταν σε τριπλή σειρά κάτω από τα αετώματα και 56 σε διπλή σειρά στα άκρα. Μόνο 15 από τις αρχικές κολόνες του ναού παραμένουν όρθιες σήμερα. Ένας θυελλώδης άνεμος έριξε μια κολόνα το 1852, η οποία βρίσκεται στο ίδιο ακριβώς σημείο.

This is really a celebrational capture ; under the patronage of Zeus ! God of the Gods.

Εφτασες αισιως στις διακοσιες φωτογραφιες...και μια ειναι καλυτερη απο την αλλη!Παντα προσεγμενες και πολυ ενδιαφεροντα σημειωματα.Και αυτη δεν ξεφυγε απο αυτο...Μ'αρεσει το τιλτ στον οριζοντα που αυξανει κατακορυφα το ενδιαφερον και δινει αλλη γραμμη στην φορμα.Τα χρωματα και παλι θαυμασια...
Ευχομαι καλη συνεχεια,ειμαι σιγουρος οτι ειναι ακομη πιο δυνατη!

Though the secret of the miracle of the ancient Greeks can not be solved (such a great culture created by so little population) but the climate could have been one of the reasons. I think the country where even the winter is so bright and pleasant can help people keep their mind bright.

Please forgive me for being late, but let me congratulate you for the event. I'll be waiting for the next 200!
As usual, the clarity and the colours are great, adding to the beauty and historic appeal of the place and the constructions. I say the same about the compo/perspective. Too often the kind of inclination you use is annoying, even when it is interesting visually/graphically, but that doesn't happen here. Having the columns straightly vertical helps avoiding a sense of unbalance, but I guess that the clouds also play a part on that. A great and original photo!

And the tiltness make them even more strong as if the world is leaning to the columns in reverence to the ocasion. Marvellous blue sky and splendid details on the closer column.

J'aime beaucoup le dynamisme de cette photo. Il y a ces colonnes de pur style corinthien qui retiennent bien la lumière sur un ciel des plus beaux. Le POV est particulièrement bien choisi pour éviter d'avoir des constructions récentes dans le champ.
