Photographer's Note

I took this picture as soon as I crossed the street from Syntagma Square to Ermou Street. This crossing is one of the busiest in the city, the green light lasts very briefly. I had missed it again because I'd been trying to photograph some Christmas decorations. My friends were already on the other side and believing I was with them were going on their way. When I finally reached the other side, wondering how far they had moved into the crowd, I saw this scene and thought it would be interesting to capture a blend of the pavement traffic, the view inside the fast food restaurant and reflections of the street behind me. I just raised my camera and captured this fleeting and unrepeatable moment. Then my sister grabbed me.

While studying this busy scene on my computer screen, I was mesmerized by the lone hand on the right.
