I had met a close friend after many months at Monastiraki Square, downtown Athens. I had been already holding my camera and, as we walked through the district of Plaka, on our way to a restaurant, I kept stopping abruptly to capture a scene or kindly asking my friend to hang on a bit, when it was a scenery that had attracted my attention. At the same time we were sharing news and asking questions about the long period we hadn't seen each other. I kept excusing myself for photographing as we spoke and after about 15 minutes I thought that my friend must have had enough of this.
I switched off my camera and just then my friend said "Look!". I looked up and took this picture as fast as my camera was on again. Only later I realized that the road at this part looked like a racing track:) I liked the smiles very much and wish them all the best, in spite of the very difficult conditions and prospects our country has in store nowadays.
Only a few seconds later they were all walking as a group towards the background and we turned into another side street.
Thank you for visiting

This are indeed exclusive moment, an couple marriage with the long white gown.
My wife and I are 53 year married this is real a long time, the most couples remain not so long together.
Excellent composition, nice presentation.
Very well done, TFS.

This has the charming characteristics of a spontaneous shot, where capturing the atmosphere of a brief moment is so much more important than a perfect composition. There are some people in the background who don't really belong in the photo, and the official photographer to the left is partly cut off, but these are ingredients that I like. This couple wanted to show their happiness in the street, and wanted to document their greatest moment among other people, and so the "intruders" in the background actually, and unknowingly, play a part in this arrangement. You have captured this very well, with the newly wed couple well centered between the diagonal lines of the street and the vertical lines of the building behind them.

Best pictures are those we naver plan to take, Ourania, and you wre in the right place on perfect timing, and result is fabulous.
Face expression of the young couple, show joy and happiness, white dress in fine contrast to the town houses.
Well done a swift action.

I like very much your note, because it is what sometimes happens to me when I walk with my wife (she is used to it now) or friends.
That's the essence of street photography: find suddenly a scene and in a glimpse, frame and push the trigger to get a fraction of a second of a life.
It won't be the place where i would have taken a wedding shot, but they seem happy about it.

Happy memories always make for that special image, this is no exception. He's a jolly good fella all right, that's lovely couple - a superb informal wedding 'street' shot and there's a wonderful warm feeling to all, that the couple would be very pleased with this. Lovely relaxed expressions, smiles and the couple in particular is grabbing our eyes and presence of the 'intruders' doesn't distract from focus of attention somehow get pulled back to the couple who provides such an excellent solid reference point to the shot. Fine effort and tfs

Well done your friend for letting you know so quickly what was going on here! Despite what you say, I think that this is a splendid piece of candid street photography and you have certainly caught a magical moment which the "official" photographer on the left has clearly missed - he's just far too busy examining his camera and not his subject!!
And again, although you barely had seconds to view and take this shot, yet your composition is excellent and very pleasing. The newly married couple are perfectly placed in the frame in some lovely soft subdued light and nicely placed against a fine and brightly lit building. Even the passers-by behind them on the right add to the interest of the picture.
And, of course, you've caught a lovely short magical moment when the two of them are laughing and the bride is making some remark to the fellow (? a camera assistant) in green on the left. And even those markings on the roadway do complement the scene too, leading the eye nicely toward the happy couple.
Whether this was your outstanding skill or your sheer good luck which allowed you to take this one really doesn't matter - who cares? - it's a stunner of a shot! But what a pity that you didn't find out exactly who these people were - I'm sure they would love to have a copy of this picture!

Can I play the antagonist here and give the flip side to your title...dare I say "Happy start, mad finish?" :) Only kidding of course, I don't mean to be....well, mean.
These are always fun pictures, sneaking in on another photographers set. I actually find these kinds of candid pictures to be much more enjoyable than the "proper and posed" ones which the paid photog is taking. You've caught a genuine moment, a bride and groom to be, acting completely natural and loving their time "in the spotlight."
I have to laugh at your situation, I'm the same way...it's no wonder I can't find anyone that wants to travel with me!? :) "Oh, wait...just a quick picture...I'll be right there"...said of course, every two minutes. lol
Quick reflexes to get your camera back on the ready to grab this opportunity, it paid off rather well indeed. A fine street scene and a big smile from the bride to light it up. Have a great day. All the best.
