Taken inside New Acropolis Museum, which unlike the most of Athens sights has interesting, modern architecture(and I have to confess,it was not easy to me to focus only on the rich exhibitions from ancient time:)

Hello my friend!
A beautiful picture between light and shadow. It is very well composed and perfectly balanced. It is composed of an abstract and it is also a dialogue between ancient and modern ... is not it a little soul of Europe? ...
Good weekend of France.

Superb light management, Krzysztof, taking this from the inside out. Contrast is between modern edifice and ancient ruins, for one scale. On another scale, the bright daylight outdoor's, contrast shaded hall indoor's.
Presence of the couple added life to the whole phopto. Beautiful, impressive photojob done.

Oh, I love this concept of bringing the outside in, and the inside out...so to speak of course. :) Impressive work my friend, these kinds of shots always give me problems, I can never seem to find a happy balance between the light sources....but it would appear you've struck that medium. I'm a sucker good a good silhouette, so this had me from first glance..but it's also worth noting it's a brilliant inclusion to draw us into the space.
With blue as my favorite color, I'm also enticed by the museum floor and its reflections. The layering between the sky, landscape and interior divides this composition into three nicely stacked aspects. What else can I say, you've come away with another beauty! Enjoy the rest of the weekend amigo. Take it easy.
Cheers from across the big blue ocean,

TFS - congrats,

An interesting composition. You turned your back on the ancient treasures inside the museum and pointed your camera at the ancient treasures outside. You captured a fine view seen throughthe fine pattern created by the glass panes and included the silhouettes of the couple enjoying the view. You placed them well, looking on a diagonal up the hill, and they give balance and life to the composition.

A very original approach to the Acropolis.
The silhouettes are placed on the ideal spot, in front of the white wall.
Excellent clarity and sharpness.
Best regards, Paul

I love this with the modern and old, the people silhouetted against all this, are super and add life to this scene.
Splendid, very well managed especially the light, Tfs,

Bardzo ciekawa kompozycja i jak znakomiocie sobien poradziłes ze światłem. Nie wiadomo co ciekawsze, eksponaty w muzeum czy widok za oknem na siwatynie. no i duzo daja te ciemne sylwetki. Super zdjecie.

Nicely different! You spotted this couple enjoying the grand view of some attractive archeological sight in the bg. I love the bright, sunny, fun feel and the patterned glass & you have made the most of the light and exposure where both vital elements are sharp in focus. The positioning is spot on, but the most great part of all is your imaginative idea!! Great capture and TFS

you have this talent for taking an everyday scene and injecting something special into it. This is a fine example with perfectly placed human interest to make the shot both effective and compelling. Superbly creative imagery! Applause!

What a contrast this is. The glass wall seems to be a divider between the ancient world and the modern, both of which you have captured in beautiful light. The upper left features an icon of ancient, while the lower features the couple gazing out creating a fine diagonal line of interest.
The inside seems dark, and a little clinical while the outside is bathed under warm light with beautiful color. Even the positioning of the people is brilliant, they could almost look as if they are comforting each other. They seem to pine for the old world and be gazing back in time to an irreplaceable era when Greece was the centre of the world. A fine subject and result Krzysztof and a smart social comment which resonates with me as a citizen of one of the countries in similar circumstance to Greece in recent years.
Thanks as always!

Excellent photo composition, well framed in portrait format.
Excellent exposing for the bright sky has nicely made a good silhouette of the people in front of glass wall.
Very well done.

this is an excellent composition, you combined inside and outside views superbly and created an image with great impact and connotations. I like very much the wide view to the Acropolis and the lovely neighbourhood beneath it. The outside view is very rewarding and appealing in terms of interest, colours and light. There's great sharpness both in the darker interior and in the brilliant view outside. I like very much the placement of the people, they seem captivated by the sight, who knows what they're thinking. The fine blue glow that envelopes the scene is very agreeable, you managed to capture the famous sky of Attica in a fine reflection. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Ciao e buona domenica

Ramy okienne ladnie komponuja sie z podloga, ktora swoim wzorem stanowi jakby kontynuacje struktury.

Super polaczenie antycznych ruin z nowoczesna architektura. Bardzo dobrze uchwyciles ten subtelny kontrast - spotykamy sie z nim we wszystkich "starych" miastach, ktore zachowuja swoj tradycyjny charakter, a jednoczesnie zyja w nich ludzie, ktorzy chca, zeby ich miasto rozwijalo sie i rozrastalo, jak wszystkie nowoczesne miasta.
Nie dziwie sie, ze ten budynek wzbudzil zainteresowanie Wielkiego Fotografa Nowoczesnej Architektury (czyli twoje...). :)
Pozdrowienia ze slonecznej Polski

Hello Krzysztof - When we were in Athens it was a flying visit and there was no time to visit the new museum. What a great view to be seen through the huge windows. I like your composition which blends the iconic and ancient with the less known modern in such a creative way.
The two figures are perfectly placed and essential to the success of your shot.
eldancer1 (36343) 2014-03-10 7:41
Indeed! Good capture of this ancient ruin from the comfort of inside the building. Good use of the windows to frame this beautiful scene. Good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.
macjake (69831) 2014-03-10 11:16
interesting to see the mix of old and new, especially with the cranes too.
Athens is such a large city, i'm not sure what to visit, I feel a bit overwhelmed. perhaps i'll see this place, who knows.
good to see the people in the scene for additional interest, nice one.
see you around

i was there one month ago and i really admired the sight to Acropolis from the caffe terrace.
Very charmy the view behind the glass partition of the Holy rock of Athens.
The dark silhouettes of the visitors contrast perfect with the outside brilliant light of the day.

Splendid and very original composition, with this view of the Acropolis from inside the museum, the couple in back contemplating the view, it's a nice touch to the composition.
Very well managed the light and shade, with good image quality.

and we are enjoying the view which you showed to us. Great idea to present it like this way. Like the semi-silhouetted figures in FG with such a bright and beautiful view outside. Great one. Thanks.

Beautifully conceived shot, Krzysztof - the silhouettes are perfect here, staring out at the ancient and beautiful scene before them. The faint reflection on the floor is a lovely touch as well. And even the screen on the window does you favors here, acting a bit as a vignette at the top of the frame. Thanks!
