Photographer's Note

Going into the most pictresque district of Athens, Plaka, behind the ruins of Hadrian's Library, lies a church dedicated to the Taxiarchs and to Panagia Grigoroussa (I'll try to explain it as Our Lady who rushes to provide aid). It was built in the 19th century on the site of a byzantine chapel that was destroyed during the severe battles of the Greek Revolution (1821).
Plaka is a beautiful place with architectural elements from all the historic periods, with lively, touristic and quiet parts and rich colours. And, of course, it lies at the foot of the Acropolis of Athens.
