Who Wants a Slice of Calatrava? Photo

Photographer’s Note

Athens Olympic Sports Complex, built in 1982 in northeast Athens, has the signature of Calatrava. As both an architect and an engineer, he easily identifies with both disciplines. He often creates innovative works that depend on a firm grasp of both the creative and structural aspects of design. His skills as an engineer allow him to create sculptural surfaces and unusual spaces.

Despite an influential presence within the European architectural community, Calatrava has rarely designed a totally enclosed building. Rather, most of his creations are open structures.

if you hadn't told me it's in Athens, I would have sworn this structure was in Valencia...
I like your crop here, looks like a section of a caterpillar...
great tonal range, focused on the opposites black/white.

Hi Burcu.
A nice detail which is not so easy to find. I also like the choice of B&W because it makes very clear contrasts. The lines going up and down is what drags me to this photo. They are the real eye-catchers here. The symmetry is great. The man doesn't fit in, but I think he makes a good perspective. Interesting building.

Grafiksel anlamda hoş bir çalışma. Siyah-beyaz tercihi de gayet yerinde. Tebrikler.

bir dilim kalatrava'ya hayır diyemez dilim, ben onu diler doğrar, dilim dilim de yerim...

mesut bey'in skrolluklarından olmuş. çerçeve çok şık, her şeyiyle de acayip özenli...

ps: hasan ve emir'den sonra leyla ve meryem'le de vedalaştım nihayet. boğazım düğümlendi, gözlerim şişti... sıra geldi hırsıza...

Well, somehow Calatrava is everywhere (and I cannot see "him", I am tired of every time the same structures and buildings.
But I should take about the photo and I think you made a good work.
