Photographer’s Note
Paleochora is a small mountain covered with small churches and chapels. There are about 20 of them.
In this photo we can see something unusual, two chapels built side by side like siamese twins. I've never seen something like that before.
Paleochora used to be the capital of the island, from the 9th century to 1826. It suffered destructions by Barbarossa in 1537, and by the Venetians in 1654, but was reconstructed each time. Now there are few inhabitants, although some of the churches are occupied. The oldest churches date back to the 13th century. Some of them have old frescoes and sculptures.
Have a nice evening...

Georgia,
Nice shot of these interesting chapels. Maybe the worshipers did not get along so separate chapels were needed? Your composition is great placing the building to one side and including the landscape on the other. The dark clouds provide nice contrast for the brightly lit scene.

Hello Georgia
Two chapels in one, so unusual !
You present a very elegant and nice composition.
All is perfectly thought, the buildings are ideally placed in your frame and the light managment is excellent.
The dark clouds offer a strong contrast, enhancing the warm colors and the beautiful harmony between nature and the old stones.
Delicate picture, thanks for sharing.

Hello Georgia,
Your good pair of eyes sees great colours. Here is it the light and colour in a landscape were a lot of people are after. Clarity, very bright, wonderful saturated, stunning fresh spring colours and most of all a sky that works excellent in here.
Nothing wrong with the composition either, only the f3.8 i don't understand.
Regards,
Henk

Bonjour,

Hello Georgia,
The Goddess of Photography, Santa Lucia, was clearly smiling in giving you ideal lighting conditions for this photograph. The dark clouds and the brilliant sunshine rarely juxtapose, but here they have. The brilliant colors and deep shadows are dramatic, and the composition is flawless.
Warm regards,
Bulent
