Photographer’s Note

Again a picture of Cologne but 1/2 hour after the red sky posted yesterday...
This is always the "Dom" cathedral but with railway bridge on the right.

Hallo Fred, dit wordt zeker een grootte, want de Dom en de brug op een foto en alles netjes verlicht en toch mooi zichtbaar en duidelijk, hier voor een proficiat, grote kleuren ook!

Superbes couleurs ! Le ciel avec ses nuances de bleu profond est splendide. et puis tu as assuré avec ces éclairages, la lumière est très bien maitrisé. quant à la compo, moi j'aurais sans doute coupé en bas au raz du premier pilier pour deux raisons :
1)le reflet dans l'eau est un peu trop présent et me distrait un peu de la belle perspective
2)le format horizontal obtenu donnera plus de place à la cathédrale seul élémnet vertical de la photo.
en tous cas, bravo

Yes, this is the one that has been missing in your series, Fred. The definite night postcard, with the bridge pointing towards the Dom in a classical composition. Good time of day to take this with the sky still appearing dark-blue, and great handling of the exposure - the effect of all the different lights and the reflections on the Rhine are great. Very good job.

This one is really great with a very attracting perspective, splendid water reflections. No over-exposure, a magnificient cathedral in the background ! An amazing deep blue sky !

Une composition crépusculaire qui a dû te faire rugir de plaisir. Et à moi aussi.
La longue exposition à transformé le fleuve en patinoire.
La perspective du pont qui rejoint la cathédrale accentue la profondeur du décor.

Thanks for showing this bridge, Fred. It looked very interesting o your previous shot and I wanted to see a closer view of it. And it is really a beautiful night shot. I klike the metal structure and the contrast with the old cathedral. But they both make a very good composition. A very well composed and captured photo. Well done, Fred.

Very good composition. And very good handling of the night scenery. The reflections on the water are very good. And the lighting on the bridge is well handled. But I particularly love the cathedral that the bridge draws the eye to. The cathedral has an eerie, beautiful, glow to it. The colors of the stone and the roof really pop out and come to life. And it matches well with the spires. It's really cool. I would like to see some closer views of that at night. Very nice. Very "gothic" feeling overall.

Ah, tu te mets sur la photographie de nuit maintenant? Eh ben, c'est très bien fait. Belle contraste de couleurs ici et bien composé avec le pont qui nous mène vers l'arrière-plan et qui donne du profondeur.

Fred, que dire? Si ce n'est que cette photo nocturne est somptueuse. Les couleurs (notamment de la cathédrale), le dosage de la lumière, la finesse de la structure du pont, la texture rendu par l'eau, ...De peur de perdre cette référence, je la met dans mes favoris. Bravo mec!

What an impressive night shot!
Very good angel you choose for the shot. With the bridge, leading to the impressive doom – which is lit with special colors. Sky colors are in good blue shades, golden water reflection, impressive bridge structure and the star like lights on the bridge.

C'est vrai qu'elle est belle ta photo. Bien nette et avec de belles couleurs bleu, jaune orange et vert. Belle composition, bon remplissage. Je vais attendre quelques temps avant de poster la mienne sinon je suis pas sûre de tenir la distance.

Very impressive picture with those massive architectural work in it. Well captured sky and reflections in the water. I also like the chosen perspective with having the cathedral on the left hand. It seems to me that this way the cathedral and the bridge are equally imposing.

Superbe Fred.J'aime cette perspective nocturne tres bien maîtrisée.Pour ce qui est de tes interrogations,j'avoue m'être trompé sur la date et également sur le matériel,mais je dois t'avouer que tu es le premier a t'en être rendu compte.Ben oui j'ai opter pour le tout manuel cad Lc10Pana ou Leica Digilux freres jumeaux.J'ai marchandé à fond vu le retard inexcussable de la réparation de mon FZ10.Et Bingo le big boss du Centre Electronique m'a fait un prix USA.Voilà tu es dans le secret,rires.Merci Fred.Phil

Les couleurs sont fantastiques! Bleu, vert, jaune, orange... elles se mélangent de manière harmonieuse! Le cadrage est génial et la netteté impeccable. J'adore!

J'ai vu Cologne de jour, une ville qui a moins de charme en journée que la nuit apparement. Je trouve cette composition époustoufflante tans sur le plan des couleurs principalement, que sur tous les autres sans exceptions.

Ce matin c'est l'Allemagne. Il n'y en a que 3 mais la qualité! Elle est absolument fantastique celle-là! Les couleurs, la netteté malgré la longue exposition, exposition parfaite ce qui n'est pas évident la nuit! Dès que j'ai vu la netteté photo j'ai compris que tu avais utilisé un pied. Moi ça me manque ce pied et comme je n'en trouve pas ici je vais devoir me le faire parvenir ou acheter via Internet. Tu en as un pratique et très compact? Parce qu'il faut se le trimballer aussi.

Superbe vue et des couleurs vraiment plaisantes. c'est vraiment très réussi. le pont guide le regard vers la cathédrale qui commence à se noyer dans le ciel couchant. Y a til eu accentuation des couleurs?

Got to break the 100 point score with this one Fred. Waht a great shot you have coem up with here. Very well done. f8 and only 5 sec...wow. I woudl think you woudl need longer exposure. On the other hand, it is a bit dark...but it suits the whoel composition so that is not a negative thing. Did you bracket when takign this shot`?

Très bonne photo de Köln! J'ai grandi à 25 km de là (Bonn) et pleins de bons souvenirs remontent..(le carnaval notemment)auquel j'ai aussi été la semaine dernière! ;-)

I love differnet kind of tones on the several types of building on Your photo. The beautyful, monumental NEO-Ghotic cathedral looks like a frozen crystal palace, but the bridge is lightened with a warm yellow colours. This look pretty good :)
