[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After looking at my pictures I realized I didn`t have a single picture of Kempten, the next biggest city to where I live, in my gallery. Of course I had to change that. When I was walking through the streets of the city at night my actual plan was to take some pictures of the Lorenzkirche, the biggest and most impressive church here in our city, but for some reason it wasn`t illuminated. So I went to this place where you have a nice view of the St.Mang Kirche, another church here in Kempten. The river you can see in the foreground is called "Iller", the biggest river which runs through the city. It was kind of a tricky shot because, as you know, night shots aren`t that easy to take.
For those who are interested: Kempten is considered the oldest city in all of Germany (we still have a struggle with Trier who also think they have the oldest city but I think Kempten is older), the Romans build this city as their first city when they came to Germany and there are a lot of reliques from that time. There is an exibition here in Kempten where you can see some of the anchient things that they left here. So I hope you like it!

Hi mark nettes Bild von Kempten kenn ich zu gut,
nur was mir an deinen Bild nicht gefällt ist das zu viele schwarz.Zb auf der linken seite ist alles FAST nur schwarz.
Hab dir ein workshop gemacht wo ich das rausgeschnitten hab und noch ein bisschen heller.

Mark, tu as eu l'oeil pour faire cette photo. J'aime la perspective des reflets du premier plan qui amène le regard sur l'église illuminée. Du beau travail avec une photo bien définie.

This is a fine night time capture, well exposed and with fine warm colours!
I like the point of view resulting in fine diagonal lines, and the well lit church is a real eye-catcher!

Hallo Mark,
A wonderful night photo, featuring a remarkable light management and beautiful colours, beside showing a very scenic town. It's interesting also as a pretext for knowing a bit about German history.

Mark,
nice to have a shot of your own city in your galery and doing so as a night shot gave the right impact. Two things that you could do better: Frist it seems to be slightly tilted to the right and second you should never take pictures when the sky is completely black. Go back to the same place during the blue hour and the shot will be extraordinarily better. Trust me!

Hallo Mark,
Not bad at all, the yellow/orange glow arond the church is wonderful, just as the reflecting colours in the river. 30 minutes earlier when there is still some light in the sky will give you more, the so called blue hour.
Despite of that i like this one...nice work.

You're right; night shots are not easy. You have done an excellent job and exposured the image well. I see you already got some good advice about the "blue hour".

belle photo de ce village dans le noir, les éclairages sont superbes et celui du clocher bien plus fort que les autres le fait ressortir et lui donne plus d' importance.
Bon POV qui avec ces reflets sur cette eau noire diminue le sombre de l' avant de cette photo.

this is a nice night shot with beautiful light and colours!I think it's a little bit too dark,but if you cut a small band of the sky and remove a part of the left,we will see better the lightened part,and maybe it will be still more beautiful!I will try a WS this evening!

Das ist ein sehr schönes Foto, die Kirche ist gut etwas nach rechts positioniert. Ich schließe mich den vorherigen Kritikern an, etwas heller und quadratische Format würden die Kirche sehr gut betonen

I know the difficulties to make photographs of night and I find that you managed well here. The lights are well managed and are not aggressive. The river makes it possible to have appreciable reflections. Pretty glance Mark, a beautiful test.
