Photographer’s Note

The name of Heidelberg stands not only for our world-famous castle, for Germany’s oldest university and for lanes steeped in history in the Old Town but also for a modern scientific and economic location with an international reputation and a most lively and varied cultural scene. The photo is taken since very romantic way of the Philosophers ( Philosophenweg) where from we have a magnificent point of view on the old bridge (Alte Brücke), the old town dominated by the church of the Holy Spirit ( Heilig-Geist-Kirche) and the ruins of the castle

a beautiful panoramic view of heidelberg from high above... i like the compo here with the bridge, the castle and the church on the corners of a triangle in good balanace...

This high POV creates the idea of a miniature town but at the same time shows perfectly a huge part of that famous city. The composition is superb with the three main elements very well placed. Well done.

La jolie ville universitaire de Heidelberg est ici présentée de façon magnfique, avec son château et son vieux pont. Les toitures à lucarnes qui caractérisent l'architecture de cette ville sont également bien visibles, avec ce rouge qui contraste sur la forêt dense, à flanc de montagne.

Great shot of my neighbourtown,only about 18 kilometers from my home.
Your POV from the Philosophenweg is excellent and the composition is great with the diagonal of the bridge and the famous castle in the distance.The image has amazing shrpness,good natural colors and contrast.

A very good landscape of this famous town!
You show us its monuments very well: the bridge in diagonal, the Holy Dpirit church, the castle. Everything is well framed by woods and green. Just a beautiful place, TFS!

Great shot and great town. I was there last august, but I hadn't enough time to appreciate it deeply. For example I couldn't go on this "Philosophenweg".. as I can see in your picture the view is just fantastic.

Voila un endroit ou il faudrait que j'aille faire un tour, ca fait une eternite que j'y ai plus ete, tres joli point de vue qui permet de suivre le pont pour aboutir sur la vieille ville, le tout me semble trop accentue.

Un très bon POV et une compo très équilibré pour cette vue sur la ville. On découvre bien les deux points forts que sont l'église et le chateau et le pont nous fait bien entrer dans l'image.

Le point de vue et la composition sont très bien vus. Le pont et le quai qui partent chacun d'un coin de l'image forment une flèche qui guide le regard dans l'image.
Petit problème de qualité pour moi, trop d'accentutation ?

Une image qui semble être prise depuis un parapente, une véritable vue d'oiseau sur cette ville aux bâtiments uniformément rouges. J'aime la manière dont la ville semble entourée de verdure et ton cadrage avec le pont juste dans l'angle est bien vu. Comme JY et Christian je trouve que l'ensemble soufre d'une légère overdose d'accentuation...

quel PdV sur cette charmante ville! J'aime beaucoup le château qui domine les bâtiments et les tons rouges et bruns de l'ensemble. Note interressante pour ne rien gâcher... (et comme disait Guy Roux...)

My preffered perspective, probably the best viewpoint over the old town, very nice architecture, not having the sky was a good idea, it feels like it was a white sky.

TE est vraiment fort..
il nous transforme (du moins une partie d'entre nous..) en photographe de carte postale..
ici un cas d'ecole, ligne directrice diagonale par le pont, bande d'habitations au tiers bas, deux centres d'interet..
c est nickel, les niveaux t'ont permis de rehausser le niveau de l'image, car la lumière me semblait bien pourrie ce jour là!!

Excellent point de vue.
Les toits de tuile donnent une belle touche de couleur qui tranche avec la verdure.
En y ajoutant ce beau pont pour guider nos yeux vers le centre de ta photo et ensuite remonter jusqu'au chateau... tu obtiens une composition parfaite.

roi du cadrage, capable de donner un véritable sens artistique à une photo proche d'une carte postale. Le croisement des deux lignes pont et rive est très bien vu.
l'église répondant au château dans l'équilibre du paysage, c'est doublement bien vu. Tu louches ?
