Photographer’s Note
Some 40km southwards along the Romantic Road from the famous Rothenburg ob der Tauber is Dinkelsbühl, a real jewel with an immaculately preserved townscape of 15-17C. In contrast to its neighbour, it has somehow managed to avoid being overrun by tourists (and this is refected in the fact that this is only third upload from Dinkelsbühl on TE) and thus has a rather more authentic air. The town walls with more than 20 towers survive intact, and even the side streets are flawless, sometimes verging on clinical, while on the four main streets almost every building is an architectural treasure. My next several posts will be from this town, which was the main discovery during our last trip to Germany. We were so lucky to base ourselves in this town for four days and explore the region from there. The only drawback was the weather; except for one morning, it was grey and dull, so for this image I boosted saturation a bit to present the colours better. Maybe no architectural jewels here, but these houses are typical of Dinkelsbühl's side streets and I found them quite photogenic...

Hi Alexander,
excellent capture. I love the minimalistic approach of front POV, showing characteristic of houses and their roofs. Repetition of variations. There is absolutely no sense of chinese presence until you read the sign. Great capture.
Kind regards,

This looks like a miniature street! Almost too lovely and neat to be true:-)
Very good composition, original with the tight frame, the many lines and angles. The rendering of the colors is superb, never seen such ones on the roofs, those pink tiles are a treat. Funny detail of that Chinese restaurant, wonder how the food is:-)
Well done, Alexander.
Have a great w-end.

Hallo Alexander,
Fijn weekend, Henk

Hi Alexander
These colourful buildings are so cute and look well looked after. I like the way you've got a bit of each building in and the line separating the footpath and the road to add depth. Your tight framing works really well here. Good sharpness too.

Nihao Alexander,
I find this framing effective and managing to reduce the bad weather effect on the overall photo brightness, colors are strong and the view is actually double chinese for the owner of the restaurant must live in this house with the red facade !
Have a nice week end JY

Very interesting composition presented in this shot. I like the balance presented in geometric elements, established and largely accurately. The soft tones, his good contrast, determining a magnificent scene.

I'll have to remember about Dinkelsbühl next time I'm in Germany, from your photos it certainly looks like a place well worth visiting.
I like a lot the precise alignment of the houses in this shot, I'm tempted to say "very German-like" :D beautiful colours and patterns, and the Chinese restaurant sign is a nice accent. excellent shot.
best,
Kristine

The four facades in a way are all the same but the use of colours makes them different.
You have seen this very well. The perspective is clear allthough we only can see the front of the houses: super!
