Harbour of Husum Photo

Photographer’s Note

It is Christmas time, and one place to go is Husum with its charming Christmas market. Not only the market but the whole town seems like a journey through the land of Christmas. I have been here twice with my family, and it is sure worth a visit.
Still no snow - if any - for Christmas this year, but there were these fine reflections in the flood tide of the inner harbour. I wish I had had my tripod with me, but I found a guard to support.

this is a beautiful shot jan, flawless... the colour palette and the soft light are all amazing, providing a perfect ambiance for the christmas mood... husum seems to be a charming place indeed...

fantastic scene with excellent sharpness all through. crispy clean even on the crappy screen i am viewing your picture on right now...

i find your magenta choice is appropriate for the scene too. brings extra festive note into the ambiance. love your composition and POV.

Hi Jan,

Excellent view from the harbour of Husum. The light is simply irresistible with warm hues that create a totally peaceful set-up. Of course, the reflection is very attractive and almost crystal clear.

There are two things that I really like about this - the first is the great reflection, which is almost like a mirror it is so perfect and smooth. The other thing I really like is the lighting, very soft and colourful, which gives this a very attractive appearance. Well done!

Jan,
the light, colors and the reflections makes this an outstanding shot. The composition with the lines of houses giving a diagonal going through almost the entire image gives a good sense of depthness.
