DOM

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The word "Dom" is for a cathedral in Germany. I have readen that derives from Latin "domus", house. I would like it from "Dominus", Lord. In other languages there are similar words for cathedral: in Italian, "duomo"; in French "dôme". This last word is also for cupola or dome because cathedrals have usually amazing domes.
In Hamburg the word "Dom" is used for something different. There is a cathedral in Hamburg but I guess it is not so important. The "Dom" is a funfair that takes place three times a year, in spring, in summer and in winter. Everytime the Dom is a meeting place for people that want fun, for exactly one month long.
I think however that this "Dom" is related to the cathedral. The old fairs or merchants took place close to the cathedral. After business came also fun. |

Salut Clemente
I love these types of shots. Lots of action, blur and sharpness in the fading light.
Well done!
Hi Clemente,
A powerful swirl shot with plenty of tivoli feeling. Darkening sky is a good background, the colourful lights are becoming alive. And motion blur gives a good idea of speed.
Kari
Hola Clemente,
