Photographer’s Note

Hallo

I have been traveling around Alsace and black forest area last week, stopped by at some cities.
One of the cities is Freiburg, a city in Baden-Württemberg, Germany (where it is more commonly known by its full name, Freiburg im Breisgau), on the western edge of the southern Black Forest (German: Schwarzwald).

Popular opinion has it that Freiburg is the warmest city in Germany. It was indeed very hot when I was there, and ice cream near Freiburg Munster, medieval cathedral where I took this picture, was very welcome by many. nevertheless this kid didn't hesitate playing chase with the birds barefoot.

it was no pose, happened just a split second
I was walking - on the way to the car going home and I saw this kid walking towards the birds, and immediately I thought the kids was going after the birds, so I stopped, prepared my cam (was already at hand), and then pressed the shutter :)
kind of decisive moment, that's why I like the picture. then I left the scene. this is actually the last picture I took during the holiday.

Hi Cessy. What a fun and dynamic shot you have for us today. I just love all of the movement from the birds and child. You also couldn’t ask for a better pose from the kid or the birds. Lastly the light was great. Great catch Cessy!

I like very much the composition with the boy and the birds. Lots if dynamism. Colors and contrast are good.

This is a very well composition shot! Your timing was excellent here capturing the birds just as they are fleeing the child. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and DOF.

So you came so close to me and did not let me know ???
I know these houses, been living one year in Freiburg when I was in the army, lovely city liked it a lot, you show some of its nicest houses here but what remains is the essential dynamism from the boy.

Reminds me of younger brother when he was 4. He tried to chase the doves but at the end he was frightened!! Nice shot.

Hi Cessy. Wow, you were quite close to my area, you could have said something :-). Anyway, this turned out very nice - I like the good use of the ultra-wide lens to give a view of the old-town square, and the running boy and pigeon acrobatics give a fine vivid add. Good catch.
