Photographer’s Note

I know, artwork photos are not sold out around here, but i could not resist sharing this with you. It is grotesque, sharp, rainy and B&W. Therefore i like it.

The Stadterhebungs commemorates the Battle of Worringen in 1288. The Battle of Worringen was fought on June 5, 1288 near the town of Worringen (also called Woeringen), which is now considered to be a suburb of Cologne. The battle was fought for the possession of the duchy of Limburg, and was one of the largest battles in Europe in the Middle Ages. Prior to that a bloody power struggle between the powerful Archbishop of Cologne and the Berg nobility had taken place, culminating in this battle. The detail in this artwork is amazing as it tells the story of Düusseldorf.

fotoğrafı çok beğendim aslında, bakış açını, ölü askerin acı içinde karenin dışına bakışını falan... gel gör ki bir sinema-tv çağı çocuğu (kart cinsinden) olarak baktıkça gözümde johnny depp ve saz arkadaşları canlanıyor sadece... iğrencim biliyorum, hem kalpsiz...

Hi deniz.

As you mentionned, this artwork is surprizing, a bit disturbing, grotesque, but at the end and even if it is difficult to explain, really beautiful on this picture. It's possibly the accuracy of the artist work, perfectly translated through the sharpness of your shot or the black and white which fits perfectly well with the subject and which enhance the beauty of the wet metal textures...

in any case a very interesting contribution.

Tesadüfen bir yerde daha görmüştüm bunu ama senin çekim açın ve tonlaman çok daha etkili görünüyor... Son derece de net...

Yiğitçe ve erkekçe bir savaşın sonucunu gösteriyor... Tepemize düşen bir füzenin getireceği sonun heykeli nasıl olurdu diye düşünmeden edemiyorum...

Güzel ve etkili bir fotoğraf... Kutluyorum...

Interestingly enough deniz, there is enough detail here to remind of the horrific scenes of WWI...What bloody massacres. Super tones and the dew coming off the statues is a nice detail in this dramatic shot.

A real dramatic photo which does not make us happy but makes us to think. To think at least how we are under the skin and how we will look like after (I hope) many years.
Excellent imprinting of the wet metal that with the the high contrast, improves the dramatic touch of the photo.

Amazing b&w Deniz. The light is so good. And so are the shadows... It's incredible how you carved some life out of a still object like this. Capturing it with these water droplets was really a great move on your part. Love it!

Deniz, digerlerini ne kadar guzel cekersen cek, ben senin sasirtici fotoraflarini daha cok seviyorum. Hem kendime yakin buldugum icin, hem de tanidigim (aslinda tanimayip kafamda uydurdugum) kadariyla senin kisiligine uygun buldugum icin sanirim. Zevk meselesi tabii, senin fotografciliginla ilgili bir elestiri degil. Farkli tarzlar denemen cok normal zaten. Bu fotografi da o yuzden cok begendim. Benim de cekmek isteyecegim turde birsey. Grotesk seyleri pek severim. Yaniliyor olabilirim ama amcanin omzu parlamis. Acaba 1/50 den azicik daha kisa mi pozlasaymissin? Neyse, armudun sapi uzumun copu olmasin, eline saglik diyeyim.

Great B&W artwork photo from a superb POV.
The best in B&W photos is that you can add a bit more contrast and sharpness than the usual, isn't it?
You did a very good job, it became very scary but the title is funny!
