La version Française un peu plus bas...

The German continuation of the River Saar goes through several loops in the area before Mettlach. The most beautiful and close loop is called the "Saarschleife". It is a well-visited place, you can admire the full view of the loop from a spot called Cloef near Orscholz (click on map to see the location).

la Sarre dessine, en territoire allemand, peu en amont de Mettlach, un méandre appuyé que les Allemands nomment Saarschleife. Particulièrement prisée des touristes, cette boucle est entièrement visible depuis le belvédère Cloef (commune de Orscholz, utilisez le bouton 'map' pour voir la position géographique).

It´s a beautiful landscape and you have taken a very nice christmas picture. Maybe we will go there some time. How did you add the map reference?

Strange, the first thought that crossed my mind when seeing the thumbnail of this image was "horseshoe bend".. talk about landscape photography brainwash :-)
Back to the real image here: I really like the view and even though it's hazy I think the soft light works fine for this winter scene. I also like how the slight pink horizon is echoed by the red/brown dead leaves on the foreground bushes.

très jolie prise de vue que tu as présentée de la "Saarschleife".Je suis d'avis que tu as raison de retouner lors de la bonne saison au même endroit et je suis convaincu que nous pourrions présenter une photo avec plus de couleurs qui manquent un peu pour le moment.
