Photographer’s Note
The Cologne Cathedral is one of the best-known architectural monuments in Germany. Construction of the Gothic church began in 1248 and took, with interruptions, more than 600 years to complete - it was finally finished in 1880. The two towers are 157 meters tall, the cathedral is 144 m long and 86 m wide. The cathedral is dedicated to Saints Peter and Mary. Hope you enjoy the picture.

Hi Denis
Your shot shows off well the detail and contrasts in the stonework of this impressive building. The tight crop works well and makes a good feature of the various shapes such as the arches. Nice work

A well-framed detail of the Kölner Dom, Denis. A creative way to show this famous piece of architecture; the sharp detail and textural richness of the photo is very impressive. Good job.
P.S. If you change the location from 'Koeln' to 'Cologne', then a city plot point for Cologne will appear on your German photo map tomorrow.

Hi Denis,
Shar picture from koln cathedral. Original view with this foreground. I was there a few month ago and its architecture was quiet impressive. You choose there to show details and it also works well. Well done !
