Photographer’s Note
After a whole day of waiting at the airport for our delayed flight, and a few German pints afterwards, we finally managed to jet off from Frankfurt.
It wasn't the most successful trip..a lot of things went wrong and I couldn't believe that a European city was closed for Sunday trading. I really dislike inhaling other peoples cigarettes in restaurants, and as I mentioned recently the zoo was quite depressing.
However in 3 days I managed to get 6 photos, so it was all worthwhile.

Love the numbers and letters on the photo and a man going to the other way. I like also the red diagonal on the lower part.
Nicely don : )

3 days 6 phots, not too bad! Im shoting for 2 a week these days, if I can keep that pace Ill be golden by the end of the year.
Nice use of negative space here Brendan, the man i well positioned, I wouldnt mind him being one step forward away fro the writing a bit more. Pleasant colors, though Id most lilely go for b/w to take advantage of the graphic qualities here.

Hi Brendan,
Shooting an airplane at the airport just wouldn't fit your style... But at least you caught a model number in text form. I like the texture and matching colours on the tarmac. The guy seems to have better hopes on the trip than your experiences.
Besides airplane you seem to have been on a time machine too.
PS.
On the earlier photo you mentioned you used Hahn airport. For it correct location would be Rheinland-Pfalz/Hahn.

Hello, Brendan--
A fitting final image to your trip, if it was indeed as bad as it sounds... this one's heavy and moody, the shadowless ground belies the cloudy sky above, and the almost complete void of a true white sustains the mood well. i agree with Rafal, that one more step would help the composition a bit. The inclusion of the dashed red/orange line in the foreground was essential, really providing direction with the man.
Thanks!

Ah, if only I also could get 6 acceptable shots a week... glad you were successful, this shot testifies to it. Pretty depressing, Brendan, what you write, but all's well that ends well. And this shot has turned out so graphic and strong. The man, I think, would have looked even better had you allowed him to go one-two more steps ahead, but even without that, it stays gutsy and strong. Love the writing on the tarmac.
Take care,
sasa

You've developed a crisp, smart, and somewhat "lonely" style of photography in Euroipe, mate. Whatever Aussie spleen you were feeling among the second hand smoke and the closed shops DID result
in some beauties! The man's determined stride among all those graphical choices is inspiring somehow, ironic too.
Very niice work (I might have cranked the contrast up a bit...)
Cheers,
Francis

Brendan,
I like how you framed this shot with the man and the writing on the tarmac. Without looking at the note, one can easily figure out that this scene was at an airport just from the writing on the tarmac. Smart idea.
