Last weekend I have visited a beautiful region of Odenwald in central Germany, a stretch of forests and rolling hills between the Main and Neckar rivers, and will share some pictures from there in the next posts. We start with a postcard shot from Michelstadt, a lovely small town in the land of Hessen. This is the first ever TE upload from this town, so I am even more glad to share this destination with you. Complete with bright half-timber houses and a largely intact city wall, Michelstadt's charming downtown is colorful and historic. We are here on the market place and see the Old Town Hall, one of the most photographed buildings in Hessen. It featured on one of the postal stamps of Deutschen Post and is known therefore in whole world, but strangely, it was not represented on TE pages until today. This half-timbered building is more than 500 years old. It was built in 1484 in the late Gothic style. The town hall served from the beginning as market hall and stood originally completely on columns from oakwood. On the right you see the tower of Pfarrkirche (Reformed Church) from the end of 14C, the town's main church.

It was a windy weather with a lot of fast-moving clouds covering the sun every minute, so I had to hunt for the light...

Bonjour Alexader
Joli cliché de cette maison à colombages au toit coloré et qui est dominée par cette église toute rose.
Bon travail - merci pour le partage et bonne journée.
Nicole

A fine architectural study of these wonderful old buildings, Alexander.
The composition is good and the light has made it's contribution and given you some great colours.
The only thing that bothers me slightly is the shadowy area at the bottom of the frame, but I think you made the most of the rapidly changing light conditions.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Alexander.

Excellent contrasts and colours. Really lovely.

The sharpness is also good.

Hallo Alexander,
As the always clean and perfection picture. You did not take fright useful shadows in the foot of the picture. You try to show the reality such, which she is indeed without excessive decorations. Pleases to me such attitude because the beauty is everywhere, but it is necessary it to find. Very nice colours and the excellent quality of the photo. Superbly you used the existing light creating the almost three-dimensional space.
Best regards from solar (this moment)Poznan,

Hello Aleksander,
Une jolie vue de cette église typique.
Les couleurs sont très belles, de même que le ciel.
Un bon cadrage et une photo très nette qui montre bien les détails de cette architecture.
Excellente journée
Denise

Hi Alexander!

Great architecture photo, once again! Great "respect" for the lines and the "geometry" of the building, great composition and very vivid, beautiful colours! Congratulations!

Привет, Саш!
Отличный снимок. Яркие краски передают красоту типично немецкой архитектуры:) Жаль, что низ немного в тени получился, но в целом очень характерно.

Hi Alexander, The house is really very attractive, I can see a wonderful architectyre: But so is the picture, taken from a good angle, with pretty colors and a very good light too. The clouds are the salt and pepper which add also a lot.

Good shot - Izzet

Hi Aleksander,
A very high quality photo. The lighting here is ideal, with impressive shadow effects. I like the contrasting hues and your POV. These buildings stand out as jewels in this historic area. The clarity of detail is also superb. A very fine capture, Aleksander. All the best.
John
