[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was at a World Cup party and this little guy was sitting next to me to watch the game, all decked out in his little Deutschland outfit. But he fell asleep soon and didn't wake up until everyone started screaming after the last penalty kick!

This was a difficult picture to get because of the low light in the room. I set my camera to ISO 100 so I wouldn't get too much grain, and then I put it on a chair and took the photo without a flash using the self-timer. The resulting photo was underexposed, so I lightened it using Levels in Photoshop before converting to B&W and using Neat Image on the remaining grain.

Quite some work to propose that nice picture.

This sleeping boy is quite a contrast compare to the tension and crazyness that happened around the Germany-Argentina game.

Hi Erin,

Beautifull, tender subject. Children like angels when sleeping. The work on PS payed off, the result is very good. B&W tones are perfectt for the subject.

Hi Erin, this is a very well executed photograph of this little boy. Absolutely the right decision not to use flash which would have destroyed the atmosphere. And a good choice of aperture to control the depth-of-field and isolate his face from the rest of his body. You have applied just the right degree of Neat Image too to maintain a texture to the image and avoid 'over smoothing'. The only small niggle I have is that we can't really see that it is a German football shirt but. . . Very well done. Stephen
