Photographer’s Note

This is the sign at Checkpoint Charlie between the former American and Soviet sectors. The soviet side of the checkpoint itself has been demolished but the old american guard hut has been preserved as a memorial to those who dies crossing the Wall. The buildings next to the checkpoint house a superb museum dedicated to the humanitarian impact the Wall had. It was very strange seeing all this, as the last time I was in Berlin, the Wall was still operational. However, Berlin is now a great and united place to visit.
