[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi guys and girls, I'm back. I was in Frankfurt for a week and I must say that this is a nice place to try out urban architecture, since there is practically nothing old to find... Skyscrapers rule the sky here, quite a difference from my rural pictures you used to see from me. Anyway, hereby a little experiment. I took this skyscraper from under a tree, I found it looking like the building was emerging from the tree.
PS: I also remarked that when you take such a high building up-front, there is quite a lot of distortion due to the lense. Is there a way to avoid / repair that?

Well, I hope you like this little experiment of mine. Although the architecture is very impresive, I prefer my good old windmills etc. for photography.
You all have a good weekend!

Sweet picture. It is good that you have the tree there. It makes the picture more interetsing

Hi Hendrik,
This is an interesting composition. I really like your POV, as indeed the building appears to emerge from the tree. The flow upward in the frame pleases the eye and the dimensions and clarity of the buildings are superbly displayed. You were not blessed with an ideal sky, but certainly made the most of this scene. Well done.
John

Good upward angle on the Deutsche Bank building in your photo, Hendrik. Strong perspective effect and a nice add with the trees at the bottom. Regarding your question on the distortion, depending on which software you use, you can try to find a tool to correct barrel distortion and it should help in many cases. Another remark: if you change the location to just "Frankfurt" (instead Frankfurt am Main), you will see a city plot point appear in Hessen on your Germany travel map as soon as the map has been refreshed in your profile page.

Goed gezien, goed werk.

Hi Hendrik,
I think the distortion is a essential detail in your composition here, really a good effect with the skyscraper growing out of the tree.
Prettige weekend,
hermann
