Photographer’s Note
The Abbey of St Hildegard, situated in the hills above Rüdesheim at the Rhine river.
At the first look you may have the impression of romanesque building, but actually it originates from the beginning of the 20th century. However, the roots dating back to the old convent of Eibingen.
In the year 1150 Hildegard of Bingen built her first abbey at the mouth of the river Nahe near Bingen. Becoming soon to small, Hildegard bought the abbey of Eibingen near Rüdesheim.

Very nice shot of this importanti viticultural region. Rüdesheim is a very fascinating town and some of the wines produced in Rheingau are simply outstanding.
Good colours thanks to the autumnal leaves of the vines.
Interesting perspective showing the church.. good contrast!
Well done!

Hey Knut,
This is just a great shot. I really like how the yellow fields slope off into the distance and both balance and enhance the abbey. You have a great DOF here and one can see the towns far into the distance. Well framed and cropped for added impact. Glad to see you back home from your odyssey.

Sehr schön, Knut. Ich habe den Himmel viel gern.
German is a difficult language. The composition is nice with yellow felds, a partly cloudy sky and this elegant church.

Hi Knut
Excellent shot well balanced in two levels: one level for the yellow field at the right and one for the Abbey at the left. The colors make a good color contrast and the depth is very nice. Superb sky. An overall very fine photo.

Hi Knut.
Nice shot. Well chosen POV with the abbey on the left and the wine yards on the right side. The color of the wine yard harmonizes very good with the abbey.
Happy new year,
Sven
