...do the fountains deliver beer...
Viktualienmarkt, situated right next to Marienplatz in the heart of Munich is a great place for people watching. There are so many tourists handling all sorts of cameras that it is easy to take a few candid shots without being noticed. This of course in case one is lucky enough to get a free path for the lens for a few seconds. Despite the hoards of tourists it seems that the place is able to maintain a certain authenticity, with the locals enjoying a chat over a pint or two, right in the middle of the moving crowd.
Now, any adult would now that one wouldn't really pour beer like that, right?

What an incredibly lucky moment.. The man is so serious and intense.
Fantastic composition and great background. Beautiful light too.
So beer flows from public fountains, maybe this photo will help me make my next vacation plans...

Hi Roland,

Well seen ! The Biergarten at the Viktualienmarkt is not my favorite one as it is much too crowded and full of tourists. It's better to go to the one of the Chinesischer Turm in the Englischer Garten...

Biergarten are part of the culture and something I really miss as they are places where you can always have a good time with friends while having a "Helles"... I should import the concept in Paris. Wouldn't it be great to have a Biergarten in the Tuileries Gardens or in the Luxembourg Gardens? ;o)

Very amusing capture. And a good note. Makes me nostalgic for the Bavarian beer gardens. I took a train out of Munich once at 6 am and was amazed to see guys such as this having a beer at that time. I guess its such good beer!
