Photographer’s Note
This is another view of the dome of the Reichstag in Berlin, but this time not with the central 'Glass Tornado' as main object.
Here you can see another picture from this dome.
This view is taken facing south-western direction.
The dome of the Reichstag was designed by Sir Norman Foster. The dome is made of steel and glass and was placed over the meeting-hall. Foster was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 1999 for his work on the building, from where you've a magnificent view on Berlin!
I took this picture because of the winter sun through the dome. It was almost the last time we saw the sun that day, the rest of the day was cloudy.
I increased the contrast a bit and cropped the picture.
Hope you like it!

Lars,

Great shot Lars! I love these kinds of shots where you get unique angles that create all kinds of interesting shapes. Seems like the lighting was just right to give you plenty of contrast and shadows. Nice job.

This building seems to offer a lot of possibilities for a photographer. I like all the lines you have captured of the dome. it's all very graphic. And it's a nice contrast with the older part outside the dome. It's quite a contrast between new and old and light and heavy. And the sun shining through provides a nice focal point to start the exploration of this image and a point to always fall back to beyond the screen. Good job, Lars.

Hi Lars, This is a fine choice of objects to show us the high tech work of Norman Foster against the backdrop of a far more traditional way of constructing. The angle and rendering of details is great and I love the lightplay. Good job!

Wow! Interesting architecture and sun! I like the peek at the german flag on the dome behind as well. I bet your dad Rob will like this architecture as well :). Very interesting view you give us here and very well done.

Hej Lars,
This doesn't please me as much as the other one that have the people in all the levels, but nevertheless it's still a very well suceeded one in the vertical format. The graphic effect of this structure is magnific and it's interesting to see the contrast with the old monument seen outside. The filtered light through this 'skin' in shape of an inverted 'V', must give a special atmosphere inside this amazing space. Sir Norman Foster is a reference to architects and we can see it here why is that. Good work with these shots and thanks a lot for sharing them!
Hilsner,
Ricardo
