Cranes at work on high-rise buildings, Admiralitätstraße and Ludwig-Erhard-Straße, Hamburg.
Shot taken many years ago when taking college students on a visit to Germany. Made on Ilford film, and scanned on a Nikon film scanner at 4000 ppi. The split-toning was done in Photoshop.

Good old times of Ilford film!
I always admire your talent of finding unusual compositions in everyday situations. Very graphic image with all those lines and shapes. Great contrast and tonal quality. Very skillful PS treatment.

A very clever observation of urban scene that you have taken something diff from norm with the tower cranes look like giant steel sentinels. You've made a very reasonable job of this bold focal point, something you wouldn't think would look good actually works very well. Clever composition and excellent viewpoint, it could easily be too busy but I think it works because of the strong solid frame of the shapes, lines, tones, the vertical crop and the graphic effect make this a splendid shot and of course the effective monochrome. And not being able to see the bottom of the cranes make the scale interesting making it look never ending! Excellent archive and you competent pp treatment, Congrats.

Like the squares and triangles all over the frame. The 'O' and the 'R' are the only round figures I see here. The upward pointing POV has accentuated the height of the already imposing cranes. Like your PP as well which gives the image an old newspaper photo kind of effect. Thanks for sharing.

I thought it was taken in Berlin, during the reconstruction after the fall of the wall. Good industrial view enhanced by the blueish tone.

This is excellently captured construction cranes from very well selected viewpoint. The view from lover angle makes the cranes majestic and dominant. The light is perfect, the contrast excellent. Monochrome conversion works well for this photo.
Very well done.

Wow, this really show the height of these cranes. Lots of construction going on here. I love the old film quality shot and great to turned it into a b&w. Gives it that vintage and timeless quality. Excellent post. I love it. I can see it as a poster hung in an architecture or construction firm.

sei andato a ripescare nei tuoi archivi una bella immagine in b&w, ben composta e di ottima qualità, nonostante l'età.
Bella proposta e bella condivisione.

Hi Will. Here is constructed. The tall cranes are a typical feature of the construction sites. Especially in the big cities you see those construction areas. Overall, an original photo.
