Photographer's Note
This thing in the background was planed to be an atomic power plant on the banks of the river Rhine. It was called the "schneller Brueter"that means it is special kind of technic that uses the power of the Uran much more effective than an usual atomic power plant.
It was build from 1973 - 1985.The price for this was round about 5 thousand Millions DM.
During the time of building there were massive protests against this power plant.
In 1991 the politicians decided that there was no need for this Atomic power plant,- so it never starts working!
In 1995 the complete thing was sold, for little money,to a clever businessman.
He made a amusement park(!) out of it and today you can stay there in a Hotel, play tennis or other sports while your kids enjoing the Merry-go rounds!

Hi Hermann,
A typical money waste in the last 30 year, but fortunately not used. The painting of the cool tower is lovely and the cows are very lovely without the atomic power plant.
Well seen Hermann!
John.

Diese armen Kühe haben es womöglich nicht ganz so schön wie ihre Verwandten in den Bergen z.B. aber schöne schwarz weiße Flecken haben sie trotzdem! :-) Gutes Kontrastbild!

Hi Hermann, you captured the result of a piece of very turbulent history with this 'snelle kweek' reactor. Funny with the cows and trees in the foreground. A very well defined & composed pic and a fine note!

Gutentag Hermann
I like the strange juxtapositioning of the cows & rural foreground, against the post industrial background. The bird on the left is a bonus. Good shot!

J’adore !
Beau Travail !

If this isn’t “Kernwasser Wunderland” in Kalkar. Also the Dutch papers has filled many articles about this place. Good to see that this peaceful cows has found their place over there. Maybe someone wants to look around that place and see what has become of the fast breather.

A clever businessman indeed. Instead of hiring some human beings to attract the attentions of travelers, the cows may have done a better job.
Well composed photo and interesting notes.

Hi Hermann. A perfect topic for TE with this good documentary shot on the billion DM grave of taxpayers' money. Also a quite pleasant photo with the peacefully grazing cows in front of the slightly odd-looking scenery. Good catch of the colors and light, and well done on the notes.
