Trek the Nuernberg- Part X, Postcard II
Fembo House City Museum
The City Museum in the Fembo House invites you to explore 950 years of municipal history. Highlights include sophisticated modern interpretative techniques and beautifully restored original interiors. Plus "Noricama", the new multivision show about Nuremberg (ca 55 min)! After the introductory sound and light show featuring a large wooden model of Nuremberg, visitors are acquainted with central themes of the city's history (e.g. town government, imperial politics, commerce and the trades). In the ballroom, an audio-sketch brings together previous inhabitants for a "Dance of the Generations". Of particular note are the original 17th and 18th room decors (including fine stucco work). The presentation ends with an impressive photo-documentation of industrial development during the 19th century, the destruction of Nuremberg during WW II and the rebuilding of the city since 1945. Not to be missed: "Noricama", Nuremberg's Multivision. Narrators include famous personalities from the city's history (e.g. Albrecht Dürer, Hans Sachs, Emperor Frederick Barbarossa). Naturally, they not only tell about Nuremberg as they knew it, but also remark about the way things are today! More than 1200 images, 19 projectors and several mobile screens provide a fascinating up-do-date picture of a fascinating old city
