Photographer’s Note

Third entry in my mini-series of "autumn mood" photos which I took during a walk along the fields and apple tree groves in my vicinity. I went in the late afternoon to take advantage of the special light. In this photo, the afternoon sun puts a golden glow on the field of mustard grass.

Good series you're presenting here Norbert. The single is perfectly placed in the frame here. The mustard grass looks slightly out of place, this seems to me more of summer view. YOu must get some later crops with you slightly longer summers there.

Hi Norbert, beautiful and bright colors for this field, good light despite the cloudy sky, I like how the tree's color contrasts with the field. It looks big for an apple tree...

Rich colours and wonderful contrast between sky and field of mustard grass, Norbert! The light is fantastic and the row of houses on the horizon line is just gorgeous, increasing the lovely effect you created. Excellent job!

The yellow fields with mustard grass is always wonderful, this in contrast with de dark sky Norbert. The farm together with the lovely colours of the tree in the middle make a great picture. The one people a nice detail.

Wonderful yellow sea with this amazingly contrasting tree to the left. I like that very much. Excellent autumn light that makes this scene possible. Sad that the village in the background is heavily shadowed by a cloud it seems. I would have liked it better to see more details there.
Very colorful and golden autumn entry. I like it.

Well Norbert,
The contrast in this one is great, the big yellow between the big dark sky. The depth is nice and the angle is good, you did a good job again.

What i love in this series Norbert is mainly the fantastic cpture of the light which ofcourse makes the colors great too...Also the contrast between the yellow field and the dark sky is amazing!

Great contrast in this picture, Norbert. The dark sky is beautiful over the yellow field. I think a "panorama-like" crop would also be nice, because you have lots of interesting details to see at the horizon (houses, trees, big tree and person).

Seems to be a fine afternoon to walk around shooting away. Another very good contribution in this series. Again the fine light and this time a 'fiesta' of colours, all in good contrast to the dark sky, effectful details, the person in there is great for sizing. Very good

Very nice presentation of october colours. The scenery is beautiful, well composed and the autumn colours are superb. What I like even more is the well defined contrast between the grey, threatening sky and the yellow field. Well captured!

I've loved each of your shots in this series Norbert - the light certainly is special. The walker adds huge impact to the shot, despite, or rather because of, his small size in comparison to the vast expanse of mustard flowers.

I like the darkening sky, Norbert, showing the shortness of the days. And I like the two lonely trees - one bare and one in splendid colors - showing the time of year. And I like the row of detached houses - so typical for German semi-urban communities - lined up as backdrop. But I think there's too much yellow field up front. I didn't know mustard was in bloom in late October and I immediately associated to Spring. Of course it's not wrong showing this colorful field in October, but I wouldn't have given it such a dominant role - see my WS. The single person walking between the fields is a nice human addition, well connected to Autumn. Well done!

Great view on this field Norbert, I like the importance you gave for this big field by allowing a lot of space to it. Great colors and light, a plus to have this person at the center. Is it tilt a bit or just the angle ?

Hi Norbert, excellent render of these mustard seed colours. Never knew that this was so beautiful. The light on the tree is beautiful, and the white village in the shade with the dark sky behind it, form a greast contrast.

It looks as if you didn't sharpen this one. I wonder why. Mind you, it looks absolutely perfect as it is, so that is probably why. But I am used to your shots sharpened. This one presents the primary subjects, two colours, blue and yellow in a very pleasing fashion - and all the thirds rules respected.

Hi Norbert

I am still impressed about your productivity as a photographer, I can bearly handle to post a decent picture every three or four days!

But when I come back I see you have posted almost one per day!!!

I like this photo, due to the different light conditions mainly, there is a splitting line that separates the illuminated fields and the houses at the dark at the back.

I always like longgg shadows, they are nice to see.

The man is good right there to appreciate the dimensions involved at this landscape.

I would only suggest to crop more to the left of the tree. Maybe...

Les teintes ici sont superbes et j'apprecie plus le fond du ciel trés noir qui donne un effet des plus dramatique.

Splendid contrast: the darker mood of the sky against the bright field of flowers. The foreground trees are nicely placed in the composition. The darker background really brings out the foreground objects. Great lighting.

Simply beautiful. It is actually tremendous. The strong contrast is the first thing that captures the eye, but besides that, the depth of field and clarity are also excellent.

Wonderful shot, which I just found on the TE home page. I love the deep, dark sky set against the bright sunlit field of yellow flowers. The tree in autumn colour adds the finishing touch to the colours. I like the way the low sun and trees cast long shadows across the field.
