Photographer’s Note
Brauhaus
City: Berlin – Quarter: Centre/Potsdammer Platz – Location: Sony Centre
Nothing much to say actually here - just a cheerful impression of our visit to the Lindenbräu brauhaus. The Escher-esque gestalt of the central staircase is not typical for the brauhaus phenomenon and can get confusing for those who aren't into moderation of their intake ;-)
I'm a bit busy but will catch up with y'all later.
Have a great start of the week!
The PCS3 work flow: I altered the saturation, contrast, curves and levels for the whole pic and some elements separately, using different layers, USM-ed, added a frame and resized, enhanced the edges on a 84 % transparent layer, merged the layers and did a gentle USM (0,8px, 42%) again.

The first impression is that the picture seems a bit busy but after a close look we start understanding and liking it. The blurred man adds dynamism and life. Thanks for the pp workflow. Well done.

Bonjour Bert,
très réussi ce patchwork géométrique de couleurs et des formes.
On ne sait où donner du regard, tant il y a des choses à voir et à décortiquer.
Une photo nette et très bien exposée, un cadrage vraiment adéquat.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Hi Bert... Impressive arquitecture, I´ve never been inside the buildings of the Sony Center. I love the unsharper person walking fastly... Give a human touch but in a misterious way. Congratulations.

Hello Bert
That's irremediably a graphic shot !
You've done a great use of all these lines and colours to get a strong impact.
The composition is perfectly thought, and the blurred man adds a dynamic effect.
I'm very impressed by the excellent quality of your shot in such conditions : the light is perfectly managed, and the fine sharpness reveals many details.
Very well done.

Karine

Dag Bert,

hi Bert,
even before I read the note I was thinking about Escher (I'm a big fan) and how my eyes were going each in different direction when I'm looking at your shot, same as with Escher drawings. besides, you also have his trademark stairs and impossible perspectives, so I think Maurits Cornelis would certainly enjoy your photo :) I like a lot the blurred figure on the far right, I find this ghost adds to the surreal mood. excellent work, I like it a lot.
best,
Kristine

Hallo Bert,
Kijkend naar de thumbnail en snel kijkend naar de titel dacht ik even dat je naar het Bauhaus was geweest (zou kunnen wat de kleurtjes en de compositie betreft) maar misschien had ik een biertje te veel op. :-)

Hi Bert,
Brewery and a modern art centre? Sounds like a very interesting place. Downwards angle makes original view of that staircase. Just wonderful mixture of colours.
