Photographer's Note
I didn't have much time to shoot pictures in Frankfurt, because I was most of the time in the office so I had to improvise. This one is shot from the S-Bahn (between train and subway). I managed to eliminate some disturbing reflections from the glass of the train, but of course you will see that it was moving. I just had the cam running at continuous and this one came out pretty ok I think.
For me, countryside boy, the sight of this business city was quite impressive, especially the banking area. In front left we see a part of the Frankfurter Messe (I think), the towers I don't know but I assume most of them will be from banks. All I know about the city is that it was completely destroyed during the war, but the good economy in this region made it a very modern city with skycrapers,... all very impressive. The skyline looks a bit as Manhattan, that's why they also call it Mainhattan (the Main is the river that runs through the town).
PP: elimination of reflections and cropping.

Hi Hendrik
I like the scalloped roof of the buiding on the left. The warm light, & b&w, on the roof of the same building, is attractive. Good work!

There is plenty of interest to see in this view. The evening light with the pastel colours makes it a pleasant sight, and considering you shot it through a train window you have done very well.

Not bad sharpness for a photo done from a moving train through a window. The motion blur adds some confususion.

Groeten,
John.

Hi Hendrik,
Although you did not have the best sky and lighting conditions, this shot turned out rather well. I like the subtle pale tones and hues here. The clarity is remarkable, and as your note says the skyline resembles Manhattan. A perceptive shot, well coneived.
