Photographer’s Note

Holstentor - medieval city gate of Lubeck. As the most famous landmark of Schleswig-Holstein, Holstentor is displayed on commemorative 2 euro coin of 2006.

Photo taken soon after sunset at 19:25. It was raining just few minutes earlier, and bricks of the tower were wet.

Camera was hand-held, because I didn't have a tripod with me. It was dark, but thanks to IS lens and high ISO camera was still usable. Camera settings: 17mm zoom, ISO-1600, P mode, mirror lockup and 2 sec self-timer.
Converted from Raw with color temperature set to 3500K. Applied some vertical perspective correction. Applied some noise reduction for the sky area only.

I like the beautifull symetry you get in this picture. Your cropping and composition is perfect. The light is beautifull also under the blue hour.
