Photographer’s Note

Standing on deck 11 of the Colour Phantasy, waiting for departure to Oslo we saw this small sloop with sea scouts sailing into the harbour. It looked so small as it glided between these gigantic ferries, I couldn't resist taking this picture.
We are back from a 4 week journey through Norway. We drove by car from Oslo to Kirkenes, where we went aboard the Hurtigruten ship Nordkapp for a 6 day trip to Bergen, and from there we drove via Stavanger south to Kristianssand to come back to Luxemburg through Denmark and Germany. If I find the time to sort out my pictures I will post some of them on this site.

This is my favourite boat, as well as her sister boat, Stena Scandinavica. You can see her here in Gothenburg!

A pity that you did not include the complete ship in you otherwise excellent picture. That would have made it an even better photo!

Good shot! Thanks for memories, I remember my trip from Turku to Stockholm by Silja Line Europa (and SL Festival) in 2002. Interesting picture and story.

Hi John,
I like your concept of David and Goliath very much, but as already stated, it is really a pity that you did not include the whole ship.
Nevertheless it is a charming composition!

Bonsoir, cher John,
C'est sûr que l'on doit se sentir bien seul face à ces mastodontes d'acier. J'aime ce petit voilier qui passe la tête haute entre ces monstres.
L'angle est parfaitement choisi pour donner le change entre les deux gros bateaux.
