Welcome friends at TE and visitors from outside

I had no idea that I ever would post incredible 400 photos when I entered TE in sep. 2003. But here we are after 1,5 years.

For me one of my great joys is to read critics and comments to my photos, why else post them? Was I in need only of an album, then I have my own. Of course to have feed back you also have to participate and be active in your own critics. As for now I have written app. 6.400. To give and to get seems to be the name of the game.

All done from my working place, presented here..

Most of my photos on TE are from Norway and places close to me. It has been an unexpected and a great pleasure to experience the interest shown to these photos from people all over the world. In the time I’ve been a member I have also had the pleasure to meet 4 of the TE members personally, two in Portugal and two when they visited my mountain cottage. Lifting relations out of cyberspace to a personal level is of course a very fine thing.

I hope that my open invitation to my place up in the mountains also in the future will be accepted by bypassing TE members. More info at my intro page.

The photo in this post #400 is from one of the bars aboard the new, worlds largest, passenger and car ferry (well, more like a cruise ship) in route between Oslo and Kiel. I was sitting with a beer when a party on a nearby table was served these colourful drinks. With the tele mounted I almost lay down in the deep chair to lean the camera to something, and within the time I was shooting, one of the guests lifted her glass of wine, adding a fine effect I think. The background light is daylight from the large panorama windows in the aft of the ship.

Congratulations for your 400th photo. This is really very impressive, I know how much work and tallent are invested in suchamazing poject. You did an excellent job on each one of them. I remember many great series, showing the lanscapes and the history of your country (and other countries) in the winter and in the summer. I truely enjoy your fantastic work.
After 400 photos all I can say is that that I am sur that your next 400 photos will be not less good, I do belive that they will be even better.

And I like this one, too.

Hi Jack and congratulation for your 400th posting on TE! With your note, you remind me this moment...
It's a nice idea to show our working place... I think I will sent a picture to flydragon even if it's not so clean that you ;))
Otherwise, due to your pictures, I hope to go on holliday in Norway too (maybe next year as this year I plan to go in Asia)
About what I like the best in your photo, I think I was first impressed by your large panorama like this one, your winter landscapes, and your daily life shots, like here.
Anyway, this one is very nice too... Cheers!

Hi Jack, cheers to y'r 400th posting! Indeed incredible. I like the atmosphere, the colours and especially the shadowplay and well chosen DoF in this capture a lot. Your note is a very nice essential part of this celebration! Hope to see lotsa new photos of ya in the future. Good job!

Very nice capture considering that you were falling asleep in the bar in front of a beer. Seems like a carefully composed photograph. The DOF is perfect and I really like the silhouette on the background. Love the light and the colours here.

Hi Jack. A beautiful still-life type of photo with a tempting-looking choice of drinks to celebrate the occasion. Also nice to include the links of some of your classic pixes in the note. Congratulations on your TE anniversary, 400 is indeed a great number and I'm happy to join the folks in congratulating you (had you posted it tomorrow, I might have been able tot do so with my 10.000th critique). Going from yellow to red, passing through orange with a subtle touch of green: I'm not sure you'd have done any better if you had staged this shot...
And the good part about photographing someone else's drinks is that you can drive safely afterwards... ;-)

Bravo Jack...400 it's a lot of pictures. With a lot of very good one.
You was the second to give me a comments to my first pictures. All you comments was nice to read and you have given me important comments. And I thank you.
The 400th need at least the Champagne or your favorit drink that you have take in picture. The picture is very festive. Good luck for the next 400.

400 photos publiées ! Ce n'est pas rien Jack. De plus, je vous suis le plus souvent possible. J'apprécie particulièrement votre album dont certaines vues sont magnifiques. Je remarque que votre bureau possède une tenue exemplaire (je devrais en prendre exemple) ! ;-))
Je trinque volontiers avec l'une de ces boissons très bien présentées pour la 400ème image publiée.
