Photographer’s Note
When goind to Alsace, I first spotted this point to fill my Saarland map. Arriving there at sunrise, mixed feeling: site is great but weather was overcast, not good for a sunrise...
So, without taking a picture, I continued my little trip.
On the way back, I usually drive fast to get home, but, as the weather was better than expected, I did a little additional tour to that point again and here it is under sunshine :)
It is the river Saar, which goes into the Mosel in Trier, latter in the Rhein in Koblenz and finally in the north sea in Rotterdam...

Hallo Didier,
wirklich schön dein Bild, toller Himmel, super POV, tolle Farben.

Nice spot, I remember being there many years ago but the weather wasn't quite this good. Great sky for photography and a pretty landscape. The sky puzzles me a bit: photo info doesn't mention it, but it looks like you used a polarizer. In the same time, on such wide angle I'd expect to see a gradient of blues as a result, and this is not the case. Did you touch it up in post-processing, or did you choose the amount of polarization very carefully? The middle-left part of the sky seems to have darker areas, hinting at the first option. That boat happened to pass by right at the moment when you needed it.

Hello Didier!
I really like the landscape: very nice!
Colors are natural and beautiful! The sky is great!
As a curiosity, in southern Brazil there are a lot of european immigrants (german, polish, ukrainian, italian etc.) and the region has similar landscapes... including this kind of place is very similar to a place called Canela in the State of Rio Grande do Sul! If I ever have the opportunity to be there I'll post a photograph... although I have an aerial from there when I went down to Ushuaia!
TFS - Congratulations!
Warmest regards,

Hi Didier,
your additional tour was really worthwhile, since you have captured a phantastic scenario of the Saarschleife under the white clouds. Great work! The POV is excellent with a wonderful depth.

Hi Didier,
Every time i see these curves it brings me back to the Horseshoe Bend. I've never been here, but it sure looks good. Not possible to stand right in the center here?
Light and depth is amazing with all those clouds, i really like to see this.
Very clever to stop on the way back, but why the D200?
Regards, Henk
