Grossbliederstroff to Kleinblittersdorf Photo

Photographer’s Note

In a true gouille terrorization style, here the second post in a day about these two villages that face each other, Grossbliederstroff in Lorraine/France and Kleinblittersdorf in Saarland/Germany. The two cities were once only one but were separated by big politics. Still many ties exist accross the river and now that the borders are gone there is no apparent sign that you cross a country border on this image, and for the lady biking towards Kleinblittersdorf it's probably not an issue at all.

In the background you can see the Kleinblittersdorf church, I chose a position just after the middle of the bridge, so with the feet a few meters in Germany, so this photo is my first Saarland entry and I seem to be there the quick second behind Kari.

Now the true story behind the post is that passing by these two villages we knew at once their names would amuse Loic a lot, so it is purely intentional and we gladly dedicate this effort to Loic ;-)

Tu es donc le second à poster une vue de cet endroit :-)
Le pov est bien choisi et le pont donne une belle perspective.
Une vue plutôt graphique et un joli paysage sous de très jolies couleurs et un superbe ciel bleu.

Bonjour Jean-Yves,

Kleinblittersdorf is pretty easy but Grossbliederstroff is killing my tongue. I even can't type it and had to copy it.

This picture reminds me another one of yours -- it was also a bridge between two towns and two countries -- Germany and Switzerland? Europe is becoming as small as it used to be in medieval times, isn't it? Just the number of various wires and cables is increasing.

cool perspective in this one and and a beautiful village at the end of the bridge... i like the biker in the compo adding life and dynamism... i wish there were no borders not only between countries but also between hearts and minds...

Tes nuages me semblent un peu bizarre, passant sans transition du gris bleuté au blanc, la dolinade mobile introduit bien le regard dans la perspective germanique.

this simple view and good reality is really to be appreciated. Borders are only to seperate people. The bridge and its lights, handrail and the wires create a good depth, fine balanced by the village.

Et bibi t'a devancé d'une courte longueur. Ta photo offre à mon avis une perspective plus longue sur la passerelle.
OK avec Didier, ces quoi ces nuages qui semblent solarisés ? On dirait presque de la mousse de bière sur le capteur ;-)

Huge names for two insignificant small villages. Certainly the right thing to be caught by you in such a good composition of a lonely cyclist connecting the two monster names.
After 10 tries ... ouch my tongue hurts like crazy. I can't talk anymore and I'm german ...!

Hello Jean-Yves,

Le point de vue est un peu différent par rapport à celui de Brigitte mais il est également plus vivant ! Ceci grâce à cette cyclsite qui occupe avantageusement le premier plan ! Je vois que grâce à l'ouverture des frontières on peut se balader comme bon nous semble et passer la frontière à notre guise ! ;-)
Bien vu pour la balade allemande !

Nice shot of these two towns, and of course the story is most interesting too. Great idea to use the bridge to link the two visually, as they ahve been historically. Nice use of the converging lines too. Great work!

Je vois que mon poste de ce matin t'a inspiré pour faire un coup double. C'est sympa. Pour compléter le tout je t'ai même mis un petit WS.
Une vue un peu plus dynamique que la mienne grâce au passage de cette cycliste en herbe. C'est vrai que tes nuages sont un peu zarbis.

Une photo sympa. La grande profondeur donnée par le pont est excellente. On dirait que la dame ne parviendra jamais de l'autre coté ;-)
La ligne de luminaire est un petit plus que tu as parfaitement inclu dans la compo.

une photo complémentaire a celle de brigitte, ou la double perspective de la passerelle et des éclairages guident bien l'oeil sur le fond du cadre, tu m'excusera si je dis pas 10 ton truc mais je préfére boire un 51 a votre santé à tous les deux

well captured shot in a well chosen vertical format, which enhances the sense of depth. Interesting story about the two border villages. Here in Hungary we have also similar situation, with the city of Komàrom, divided in two parts by the river. Since the two countries are actually not members of the Schengen treaty, passport control is still done at both sides of the river. Fortunately, only till the end of this year...

A well composed image and an interesting note.I`ve never heard about these villages before.The person on the bicycle is perfect placed and the diagonal of the bridge gives a good depth to the image.

So you and Bibi had a double feature show yesterday. I like the concept of a walkbridge between two countries. It is well presented here with the cyclist. Maybe you could have zoomed closer to show the village bigger.

Bonjour mon p’tit cousin des vieux pays...

En regardant cette photo, je me rends compte qu’elle partage un point commun avec la précédente; tu n’as pas pris le temps d’effacer tous ces câbles dans Photoshop... Tu te négliges mon Jean-Yves, tu te négliges... :-D)

Heureusement que tu te rattrapes avec une belle vue qui compléte celle de Dame Bibi. En bon photographe consciencieux, conscient et soucieux, tu as attendu quelques instants pour y inclure un piéton ou une cycliste...

Bon, on se contentera de celle-là, mais Aldo lui, il les choisit avec un plus grand soin... Tu sais, du genre mollets effilés.... Ben après tout, y en a p’t’être pas à Grossbliederstroff ou à Kleinblittersdorf... Les saucisses, ça finit par faire enfler les cuisses...

Belle perspective et couleurs naturelles.

Bravo pour avoir évité de projeter ton ombre dans le cadre de la photo...
