Photographer’s Note

In the small city of Kaub we can find one of the most picturesque castles at the Rhine river, the Zollburg Pfalzgrafenstein. It was erected in 1327 and modified in 1607 and 1755. The castle functioned as a toll-collecting station. It worked in concert with Burg Gutenfels (which can be seen behind) and the fortified town of Kaub on the right side of the river. The castle was known just as "the Pfalz" and it was never conquered or destroyed, withstanding not only wars, but also the natural onslaughts of ice and floods by the river.

Hermosa composición. El castillo, pintado en colores modernos y iluminado por el sol hace un hermoso cuadro en el Rhin. Los campos sembrados y los demás castillos complementan este magnifico paisaje.

Your composition is great here giving us two castles for the price of one. The vertical format works well allowing us to see both castles. The lighting and colors are great and the photo has nice sharpness and DOF. I have a very similar shot in my gallery but I think yours is better.

Hi Clemente,
nice POV, that show us that great building on the island and the hill too with the tower in the background. The Rhein River (apropos of rivers :-)) has some beautiful corners and this is one of them.
