The Elector's castle of Trier Photo

Photographer’s Note

I know there are already a few pictures of the same theme uploaded on TE - but definitely less than those with Tour Eiffel, for instance. Now you can see my approach.

The splendid Rococo castle was built between 1615 and 1650 on the order of archbishop elector Lothar von Metternich. Just behind it you can see a part of Constantine's basilica from the 4th century. And more about the castle you can read here , thanks to our friend Frank.

In the WS you can find a closer view of the facade, in the map function a satellite photo.

Ciao caro Laszlo,
sicuramente, per decidere di fare questa bella foto, anche tu, come me, sei stato piacevolmente impressionato dal contrasto cromatico del rosa con gli altri colori circostanti e dal contrasto architettonico del palazzo con la costruzione dietro, decisamente in stile neoclassico. Gli elementi che compongono la foto sono tutti piacevoli e ben distribuiti. Peccato che non c'era il sole, ma non si può avere tutto dalla vita, la foto va più che bene così come tu l'hai catturata.

Hallo Laszlo,
ein schönes Bild von diesem alten Schloss. Mir gefällt vor allem die farbliche Harmonie der Blumen im vordergrund zu der Farbe der Schlossfassade. Deshalb ziehe ich dieses Bild auch der Workshopversion vor. Apropos, danke für deinen Workshop bei meinem Bild. Sieht noch einen Tick besser aus.

J'aime bien le coin que tu as choisi Laci et la realisation est tout a fait bonne dans une lumiere obscure. Seulement, je specule, si tu avait fait cinq pas a gauche, tu aurais eu la statue en face du deriere sombre des verdures - ainsi elle serait plus evidente et la composition plus dynamique. Mais c'est une idee.

Graue Wolken über Trier ...
Unsere Wege haben sich ja schon des öfteren unmittelbar gekreuzt - wie hier wieder. Das Foto ist für mich wieder ein Beweis, dass es auch ohne Sonne geht. Insbesondere die Farben sind ohne Sonne meist angenehmer. Schön, dass Du hier so viel Leben im Park "erwischt" hast. Gut kommen auch die Dimensionen der beiden herrschaftlichen Gebäude zur Geltung.
Bald werde ich wieder dort sein.
Eine gute Woche nach Szolnok für die ganze Familie!

very impressive the panoramic view of this splendid Rococo castle,with the pink colour and the decorative ornaments that exist.I like the sharpness and the clarity of the scene,as the fine foreground with the statues and the colourful flower bed on the left.Well done.

Hi Lazslo,

Very attactive and colourful shot. Great POV and fine composition. I love the inclusion of people. Personally I would have a included a little more to the left and a little less to the right in order not crop people in the path. TFS and have a nice evening!

Ciao Laszlo,
nei giorni nostri avrebbero gridato allo scandalo, per aver costruito questo palazzo rosa attaccato alla basilica di costantino del quarto secolo, in effetti contrastano un pò le due architetture, comunque e' foto molto gradevole da vedere e come al solito per l'interessante nota.
